You never give me your money
You only give me your funny paper
and in the middle of negotiations
you break down

I never give you my number
I only give you my situation
and in the middle of investigation
I break down

Out of college, money spent
See no future, pay no rent
All the money's gone, nowhere to go
Any jobber got the sack
Monday morning, turning back
Yellow lorry slow, nowhere to go
But oh, that magic feeling, nowhere to go
Oh, that magic feeling
Nowhere to go
Nowhere to go

One sweet dream
Pick up the bags and get in the limousine
Soon we'll be away from here
Step on the gas and wipe that tear away
One sweet dream came true... today
Came true... today
Came true... today...yes it did
One two three four five six seven,
All good children go to Heaven

Here comes the Sun King.
Ev'rybody's laughing
ev'rybody's happy.
Here comes the Sun King.

Quando paramucho mi amore de felice carathon.
Mundo paparazzi mi amore cicce verdi parasol.
Questo abrigado tantamucho que canite carousel.

--

Mean Mister Mustard sleeps in the park
Shaves in the dark trying to save paper
Sleeps in a hole in the road
Saving up to buy some clothes
Keeps a ten bob note up his nose
Such a mean old man
Such a mean old man

His sister Pam works in a shop
She never stops, she's a go-getter
Takes him out to look at the queen
Only place that he's ever been
Always shouts out something obscene
Such a dirty old man
Such a dirty old man

--

Well you should see Polythene Pam
She's so good-looking but she looks like a man
Well you should see her in drag dressed in her polythene bag
Yes you should see Polythene Pam
Yeah yeah yeah

Get a dose of her in jackboots and kilt
She's killer-diller when she's dressed to the hilt
She's the kind of a girl that makes the news of the world
Yes you could say she was attractively built
Yeah yeah yeah

--

She came in through the bathroom window
Protected by a silver spoon
But now she sucks her thumb and wanders
By the banks of her own lagoon

Didn't anybody tell her?
Didn't anybody see?
Sunday's on the phone to Monday,
Tuesday's on the phone to me

She said she'd always been a dancer
She worked at 15 clubs a day
And though she thought I knew the answer
Well I knew but I could not say.

And so I quit the police department
And got myself a steady job
And though she tried her best to help me
She could steal but she could not rob.

Didn't anybody tell her?
Didn't anybody see?
Sunday's on the phone to Monday,
Tuesday's on the phone to me
Oh yeah.

Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby

Golden slumbers fill your eyes
Smiles awake you when you rise
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby

Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby

--

Boy, you're gonna carry that weight
Carry that weight a long time
Boy, you're gonna carry that weight
Carry that weight a long time

I never give you my pillow
I only send you my invitations
And in the middle of the celebrations
I break down

Boy, you're gonna carry that weight
Carry that weight a long time
Boy, you're gonna carry that weight
Carry that weight a long time

--

Oh yeah, all right
Are you going to be in my dreams
Tonight?

Love You, Love You, (x15)

And in the end
The love you take
Is equal to the love you make.

HEHEHE that's a GREAT come back, WonderLizard!  To each their own, eh?

At least I'm closer to Paradise than you! {#Nyah}

This is one of those:  stop what I'm doing, turn it up a bit more, and just enjoy.  Just awesome!  The "ahhhhhhh" harmony at the start of Sun King,  the changes that just seem to fit together. All the way to The End!

Not that I don't like some of their work, admire the production (the real 5th beatle) and recognize their role in RnR history, just that I like more of what they did after the band broke up.

If you had to choose, is this their greatest single song?

Or, as some would claim,is it:  "A Day in the Life"?
One of the handful of tracks played here in RP which imo rates a 10+ button.
357 out of 3763 (9%) rate this as less than a 8.  This is significantly lower than the rate of mental illness in the general population.  These people need help.  Stat.
For me  9 - OUTSTANDING
These songs are brilliant like most Beatles songs, especially John Lennon and Paul McCartney songs and some George Harrison songs.
Goose bumps every time.
Can you use your wildest imagination and think of a band in the last 20 years, that could even attempt to do something like this one song, this one album, etc?
This automatically makes me stop whatever I'm doing, looking for a production deal or writing a mail, to listen and sing along. Sure fire way to stop me cold. It's almost impossible to do otherwise. A 9? Umm, that's too low. Silly songs, mostly, but genius nonetheless. Magnum opus.
Fairly epic, approaches The Who in its scope
Once there was a way to get back home...

Somehow the Beatles sound better on Radio Paradise! Just lovely, thanks so much :)
Still gives me goose bumps!
Incredible in the fact that these were unfinished songs they blended together to make one of Rocks highest moments.
Everyone always rates Sgt Peppers as the best album by the beatles, but this is the Best Album by any artist anytime

I heard Cousin Brucie on WABC in NYC play them for the very first time in the US and to this day I remember it vividly.  I've been "holding their hand" every since.  A solid 10 for the group that changed our music forever,...heck I'd give them a 20 if I could!

You must also remember his NYC-radio competitor from back then, Murray the K, from 1010 WINS - the self-proclaimed "fifth Beatle."
This. Entire. Album. Still hits me as it did all those many years ago. Chills. No work getting done now!

AND they changed so much more than just music.....
First and last love - musicwise! Even if it was before my time... Makes me weep each time! Cold shivers up and down my spine!
And they've carried that weight for 50 years! And counting.
The best. Ever.
Thanks Bill and Rebecca! So beautiful!! Always very enjoyable!{#Bananajam}{#Bananapiano}{#Drummer}{#Dancingbanana}
It just does not get any better than this.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion and all that, but maybe you should pick just one of these two.  {#Cheesygrin}
Still love the Beatles. Jeez, I've bought the Beatles collection probably 7 or 8 times over the decades. lol

Thank you The Beatles for

You Never Give Me/The End

9 - OUTSTANDING for me

Most likely, yes, although I always think I would have been trippin' like Syd. Nonetheless, I don't hate the beatles I'm ok with them, just not a screaming fan

Thanks Bill.

I see this was recorded in May 1969.  Man, there was soooo much good music made in 1969.  It would have been amazing to have been born in 1950 and experienced the era of rock music from start to finish... right up until the mid/late 1990s when it all turned to garbage.

Many people born in the 1920s and '30s thought popular music "all turned to garbage" after rock and roll came into prominence, so I guess it's all relative.

I was born in the late 40's, and I have considered myself  absolutely blessed,to have been born in this time in history ! And blessed to have found Radio Paradise !

Dude on the right is Kevin, played Tuba as the 5th Beatle for a few weeks, before being told thanks, but they were going to forge ahead as a 4-piece. Never stopped drinking Guinness.
How many songs have a votes' histogram like this? 63% are 10s!
They got better every album right up to this masterpiece a 10 for sure

the song is never ending ! I understand how iconic the Beatles have been but to me their music sounds old... I just don't get it, maybe because it's not my generation ? I simply don't relate...

It's not a song. It's a suite. And it's an orchestral symphony to rock and roll. Of the first magnitude.  And a magnum opus. Check it out.
So great. Although, they cut off the bit of 'Her Majesty' which is in the original recording.
it's been a rough week, (Trump and all),...and I must be weak,
I'm having an emotional recall of 1969 and the breakup of The Beatles,............{#Embarassed}

"keeps a 10 bob note  up his nose"..

"she's the kind of a gel that makes the News of the World"

"now she sucks her thumb in wonder by the banks of her own lagoon"

Never before or since.....

By the way, if you turn left after the zebra..(before the famous beetle)..you go into Abercorn Place..where my parents lived..and you would see all sorts of celebs parking there for the Abbey studios

Cordialement,
I so much more appreciated the Beatles rock/Hippie music over the pop period even though all their music is iconic.
So much whistling jubilation.
So fine
so fine
Just like it was yesterday .... still the best of the best!
