Miles and miles on my own
Warm with shame, I follow on
A language to find hard to hear
Not to understand, just disappear

To hold your heart, to hold your hand
Would be to me, the greatest thing
To hold your heart, hold your hand
Would be to me, the bravest thing

Could you take my place and stand here?
I do not think you would take this pain
You'd be on your knees and struggle under the weight
Oh, the truth would be a beautiful thing
Oh, the truth is a beautiful thing

I wear another thought of you
With so much harm my gift to you
Hide you somewhere they don't know
Deep in my core you know you have a throne

Hold your heart, hold your hand
Would be to me, the greatest thing
To hold your heart, to hold your hand
Would be to me, the bravest thing

Could you take my place and stand here?
I do not think you would take this pain
You'd be on your knees and struggle under the weight
Oh, the truth would be a beautiful thing
Oh, the truth is a beautiful thing

Mommy make it stop!!!!!!
Please play more songs from this album Bill.  I'm glad you play this one but it's down the list of my favorites from this latest effort.
Thanks RP for playing this and introducing me this amazing voice...
Lovely, lovely song.
It's only fault is it's now overplayed...
very nice!
Amazing…
Gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. What a voice!

I erased this album after a few listens on my device - just didn’t feel as poignant as their previous one. However, this song does stand out as stellar.
Just discovered this album a year ago, and it's become one of my favourites. I prefer the song "Hell to the liars", but this is also a great one.
Keep playing tracks off this album Bill!!! Our whole house stops what it's doing for a few beautiful moments....
Amazing.

I love this emotive piano work, too...  this song squeezes my gizzards...  big 10...
The beauty of radio. I've been playing this album to death and loving it. But when you hear a track unexpectedly it's so much better.

Given your 10 rating for songs by Dylan, Tom Waits, Derek Trucks, Leo Kottke, etc., my guess is that you don't put a premium on (absolutely) beautiful voices...
Ain't that the truth.
7 > 8
Every track on this album is as good as this one

On most days I'd rate this higher but it's annoying right now so -> 5.Tough shit.

Well, if you really wanted to be tough guy, macho, super individualistic, you could always bang your head against a brick wall for half an hour.

Or head out and hurt a stranger.....
