I made a batch of Imperial Stout one time. It boiled over and made a heck of a mess so it was named Trash the Kitchen Stout. I also thought I'd sweeten it up with a little molasses, not knowing that the molasses flavour compounds were not fermentable so it tasted like vile watered-down blackstrap. Stuck it in the back of a cupboard and rediscovered it 3 years later. It was divine.

Now be honest: did you suffer the concussion before you drank the three year-old beer or did the stuff just punch you silly on the way to your stomach?

Oh yea, I have tried this one. It's good. I have tried every Marzen Lager I can get my hands on, crazily enough Samuel Adams of all people (not one of my favorite brewers) still has the best Marzen I have tried. It is strange because the rest of their brews kinda suck. lol

One of the local supermarket chains has been running specials on this "local" brewery's beers.  I tried this Pilsner:
pilsener
Pretty tasty - smooth lager/pilsener, not "skunky".
I'll have to check out their other brews.

We had some great ones at Stonecloud Brewing today. Seems as if there's a new brewery opening monthly here lately due to the recent change in liquor laws.

I don't remember having a New Belgium beer I didn't like.  This is a tasty, refreshing brew and goes down easy on these summer dog days - plus it comes in a convenient 15-pack.  Like Sierra Nevada and Oskar Blues, they've also set up second breweries near Asheville, NC.

HobieJoe brought a coolerful of that to our eclipse campout. I was feeling poorly or I would've made a dramatic inventory reduction... but yeah, that's a nice one for all-day long.
