Our Krogers limited releases and out of the ordinary brews are set out in the middle of the aisle stacked almost hidden like they haven't been put up yet.  They usually have about 20 or so 12 packs or cases of certain brews and when its gone, its gone.  Here is the latest offering from Lagunitas that is usually not found in this area.  It is awesome and in cans!{#Jump}

Now I went to some new friends' house a few years ago and the mom told the dad that he should stock the fridge with some beer in case I don't like wine. When I got there, he offered me a beer and being a snob I said "sure, whatcha got?" and he says Sam Adams, Blue Moon etc. and said he had one Anchor Christmas Ale. Since it was just January, klaxons sounded and I grabbed a glass and that beer and retreated to a corner with my Precious.

It wasn't until I was halfway thru it that I looked at the label: 1978. The cap wasn't rusted but it had sat upright for decades somewhere in a box that had been moved to several households in the intervening years. It was pretty flat, and there were actual chunks of cementitious yeasty sediment sort of clicking as I tipped the bottle. It was still sort of okay but I admit to being put off by it and didn't finish it.

Like I say, the Avery "Real Peel" Tangerine IPA I have now ( isn't very good, but it's not because of the fruit. The Hop Nosh Tangerine from Uinta is really great.

Caveat: it gets very middling reviews on BA which really surprises me. Especially the one reviewer who says he's never had anything from Uinta that's worth buying. I disagree 100%. Maybe it's because it's fresher here? I volunteer to buy 6 or 12 and report back. I know it will be better than what's in the fridge right now.

I've had the Uinta and the New Belgium ones; neither is overwhelmingly citrus-tasting and I liked both of them - I preferred the Uinta.  I bought singles of each, and they're probably not ones I'd buy six-packs of...well maybe in the summer.  I guess if a self-proclaimed "reviewer" states that he's never liked any beer from a specific brewery, then it's pointless for him to even bother reviewing one.  I've liked all of the Uinta brews I've tried - the regular Hop Nosh, Cut-throat Pale Ale, the Session IPA, the 801 Pilsner...probably others.
