I'm so excited at the possibility! I'm devising a plan to make the painting part of a different series if it's not accepted into the project.  But of course, since it was painted specifically for this opportunity - it WILL be selected!  Yes!

didn't know until I got there that it would be recorded for tv later today! Where is my hairdresser when I need him?  I think it went well.  I think one could probably tell I was pretty nervous.  I was asked to show a couple of pieces and talk about them, and one location was recognized by one of the Councilmen.  I may have actually sold that one to another speaker that was there.  Pretty exciting! Had to rush home afterward to work on a piece slated for entry in our big Grain Elevator project.  I am hoping to have this one selected to be reproduced on a grain elevator!

Preparing to go speak in front of our County Commissions Board about my exhibition, now hanging in the County-City Gallery until the end of August. I get five minutes to talk about my work, my inspiration, my techniques, my history, and to thank them for the opportunity to have so many people view my work.  Added bonus is that any sales resulting from this exhibition are 100% mine, as they do not charge a commission due to the fact that it's a government building.
I jotted down some notes on three little cards to keep me on track.  I've been trying to "practice" what I'm going to say for the last two and a half hours and I can only get as far as. "Hi! I'm Helen BUCK Donlan and my landscape paintings are now on view in the County-City Gallery. "

Can't seem to get any farther. I will just keep the notes in front of me and wing it. How bad can it be?

I still have about 30 minutes to go, will finish it tomorrow.

But a funny thought occurred to me while watching it.

Rich Little could have played the American parts. All of them.
