Boren is one of the most influential and powerful Oklahomans in our state’s history. As a result, there’s been a slew of tributes dedicated to him over the last 24 hours by the local media, civic leaders, educators, and political underlings on both sides of the aisle.

This article is not one of them.

There's already a Braum's less than a mile from it.

Yeah, the place could use some renovation but I'd prefer the eyesore it currently is to another damned fast-food joint. I read somewhere that Oklahoma City has the highest ratio of fast-food joints to people in the country. And we wonder why it vies with Mississippi for most overweight, least healthy state.

That video was awesome. I assume the crotch-rocket boys were the instigators, but according to the comments on the youtube, the big boy with the knife and probably the shotgun bubba got arrested. The video conveniently leaves out whatever was going on that got the guy in the truck so upset, but he sure as hell whaled on the one kid. Still had his helmet on, he's lucky the guy didn't use it as a wrench and unscrew his head.

Sounds like the reason Hillary Clinton lost the presidential election.

Self-described beautiful people seek out more beautiful people and learn nothing.

I can guarantee you that there is much humanity in Oklahoma even if I never been there.  I found humanity in some of the poorest, most corrupt, most violent, most poorly governed countries in the world.

I just read a dozen posts on Oklahoma in this thread and elsewhere, mostly posted by Red_Dragon and all I can say is "Oh?"  which is a polite way of saying something else much more profane.

I would thank you Red_Dragon but right now I am wondering if ignorance is indeed bliss.  In the interests of juvenile pissing contests I wanted to interrupt and say, "Well, we can do worse than that in Canada!" because if nothing else, those kinds of stories really piss off my fellow Canadians.    Not sure I can.

Sounds like Oklahoma would be an interesting state to visit though.  Strikes me as an interesting cultural experience.
