I would play RP at a house party — and 90% of my friends would LOVE it. Bill — I used to listen to the Obscure / College Radio stations as well — because even in the Early 70's mainstream RADIO SUCKED most of the time. Today's radio — forget it. That's why I have a CD player in the car.

Why is this even a question? Of course.

Assuming I'd have a house party.

We also have a sound bridge and use it all the time, including parties and dinners.

We also mix up our own discs and play them when we want to control the mood.

Yes, me too. Usually. I'm always excited to try out certain artists for guests and sequencing the music is a real high, as any DJ worth his salt knows.

That said, Bill creates some stellar lists and not knowing what's coming would doubtless cause some pleasant suprises. I guess it would depend on the gathering in question and my old mood that day!

Probably not. I'm way too much of a control freak when it comes to music in my own house; I'm my own favorite DJ. Yes, special *party comps* ready to go and shuffle when the need arises. Plus, there's more jazz, blues and punk rock at my house than there is at RP, too.

I have, several times. Often when guests are over it is the music I put on.

A. Yes, I have already done so
B. Yes, I haven't played it at a party yet but probably would if given the chance
C. No, there are too many "slow" stretches
D. No, there aren't enough "recognizable" artists

I'll be interested to see the responses to this.

Feel free to include personal anecdotes of your experience with RP at a house party or among a large group of people.
"A.", sort of: I play it regularly when I am spending time with my S/O, and she has become quite enthusiastic! To the point of going out of her way to obtain some new music by Deb Talan and Rabbi Shergill!
