Come a little bit closer
Hear what I have to say
Just like children sleepin'
We could dream this night away.

But there's a full moon risin'
Let's go dancin' in the light
We know where the music's playin'
Let's go out and feel the night.

Because I'm still in love with you
I wanna see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon.

When we were strangers
I watched you from afar
When we were lovers
I loved you with all my heart.

But now it's gettin' late
And the moon is climbin' high
I want to celebrate
See it shinin' in your eye.

Because I'm still in love with you
I wanna see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon.

I'm starting to dislike Neil Young.  I guess repetition does not make the heart grow fonder in this case.
Not much of a fan of Neil Young but this is a great song.
So kind, so honest. So Neil and forever young in my mind..

A 10, for the warm memories it triggers each time I hear it.

I loved dancing to this with her, everytime.
It always takes me back:
slow, slow, quick, quick, quick...

I remember:
I was recently separated, devasted, eviscerated.

In her beach chair, I saw her peering at me o'er top of her sunglasses, and her sky-blue eyes had me hooked.

To be fair, it was all due to her 6-year old daughter being mesmerized by my 7-year old identical (at the time) twin boys. So fascinated was she by the duplicate boys (so she thought at that age), she had to drag them (and me) back to her mom to show her this wonder of the world.

That led to church basement Saturday night dances for single parents. She taught me to just let go, feel the music and allow my body to follow its natural inclination to move to a beat. Man, did that ever become fun on the dance floor, and off... :)

I am finding my previous ratings for this AM's songs to be exactly what I still feel!  What a great song and artist.

It's a pleasant-enough song... I seem to have heard it a lot recently though.

Saw him sing this at Red Rocks/Colorado and there was truly a harvest moon that night.  Never to be forgotten.

I'm envious!

This song always has me recalling an old friend with a smile.  She was heartbroken over a former love and while consoling her one evening, this song came on - so I made her get up and dance with me.  I dipped her and spun her and it made us both laugh so hard.  We don't talk anymore, but I still think of her everyday.  I hope she's happy now.

One of best love songs.
Watched Neil and the boys play this at Desert Trip- under a full moon of course.  Made my wife cry. That one moment was worth the price of the tickets.  Thanks Neil.

I'm not much for complaining about a song being overplayed but this one is starting to bore me I've heard it so much

And that, my friend, is a true definition of love ain't it?  Hoping they're happy regardless?  {#Hug}

:-) nice.
This song doesn't mean as much to me now after he left his wife for Daryl Hannah. In the end, I hope everyone's happy.

Nice, but the unplugged version is far superior imo.
Harvest Moon is a kind of copy of his most sucsessful album Harvest.
Together with James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt as back-up and instrumentalised
by Stray gators. But not so depressiv and uncertain.
Beautiful love songs as Neil said a "femal" album...

Harvest moon is the first name, I guess 9th is the surname.
Sounds like a supersituation being dressed in pink costumes before baby is due

I imagine BigDaddy dancing to this song and start to wonder, is she your wife of 26 years or for 26 years?
I have seen him live. About 4 times in 20 years. Good show

Better to burn out than...
My 30th wedding anniversary song.

Just when you think this song can't get any more beautifully melancholy, the harmonica kicks in. Just amazing.
