This should have gone on the list...
Nice...but she and Aimee Mann should get together...you get my drift?

I totally agree with your assessment of this version-it's just way too glossy. I was introduced to the song through Nina Simone's version, which is slow, smoky, pensive, and raw with emotion. She does this most excellent song justice in her rendition.
First time Ive heard and must admit I like it already.
Sounds sexy. 8)

Yes. And yes. I've been waiting for someone to write a comment like this b/c I couldn't put it into words myself. Thanks.
yeah! twilight singers!
but i think this is as close as we're getting to any gregg dulli on rp. someone has an irrational hate of all things dulli.
i saw the singers in indianapolis a few months ago. gregg is a true showman. i was so dissapointed when the whigs broke up, but the twilight singers are my new favorite band. i'm glad gregg tried something different and didn't keep producing "whigs-lite" music.
go twilight singers.
i tried to upload "domani" which i think is their strongest song, but all my stuff gets rejected.

fabulous cover version, i agree.
all should check out their latest cd release
Start and end are pretty much perfect. I don't like the chorus parts as well as the rest.
Cowboy Junkies on Prozac.

The Twilight Singers do an outstanding version of this song. It's a highlight of their live shows. If you're interested.
thank god someone else knows of the twilight singers (and greg dulli cool voice. tasty arrangement. would be perfect to follow this one up with Donovan's "Yellow Is The Color".
I really like her voice

Reminds me of the bass line in Peter Gabriel's "Digging in the Dirt", an emotive masterpiece. This isn't bad, but I'd rather hear the former.
Hmmmmmmm. Kind of a nice take on a classic song. I like it.
Truly forgettable.
banality to the max.
it's something my usually classical and miles-davisesque jazz loving father would listen to just to prove he's still cutting edge :P
banality to the max.
Boooooring
