Hey

Well, did I tell you before when I was up?
Anxiety was bringing me down
I'm tired of listening to you talking in rhymes
Twisting around to make me think you're straight down the line

All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk

If every sign that I see is complete
Then I'm a fool in your game
And all you want to do is tell me your lies
Won't you show the other side, you're just wasting my time

All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk

When every choice that I make is yours
Keep telling me what's right and what's wrong
Don't you ever stop to think about me
I'm not that blind to see that you've been cheating on me

You're laughing at me when I'm up
I see you when you're crying for me when I'm down
I see you when you're laughing at me when I'm up
I see you when you're crying for me

All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk
All you do to me is talk, talk
Talk, talk, talk, talk

Especially in their later albums...  Spirit of Eden. OUTSTANDING work
Fun from the 80's!  Not high art but likable.

Or did the band name themselves after the song?
There must have been a shortage of lyrics on the day they wrote this track.

Nice pop tune.

The later stuff is still so much better.
For some reason I never expected to hear this on RP.  Then again, nobody would have expected to hear it coming out of car radios in 1980whatever in the little California oil/cowtown I used to live in.

Top air-piano tune.

I actually like it okay these days. Not so much back then. I think I can hear the direction they'd take in their future. What do you call 20/20 hindsight when it's your ears?

Great Big Sea did it. Big Country almost did.

I'm shocked! I really am. A record where I agree with coentje. Unbelievable.

Actually, in a word, yes. I have this album, and once in awhile I listen to a number of cuts off it. Actually, now I have it on my ipod, but anyway...

OF COURSE NOT. Except, it exists. Makes the brain go, "huh?"

A bit repetitive...

I always remember seeing that on the MTV credits and thinking "This is a bad sign, when the band, the album AND the single all have the same name!"

I love the way they play with the gloomy atmosphere, effortlessly and how they sometimes seem to rise above it. The voice sounds like one of the instruments, which also adds to the dramatic, theatrical effect. British bands are often good at that.

Yep. And a good CD it is. The Colour of Spring is excellent.

Great song too. Interesting aside, name of the band is "Talk Talk," name of the Album is "Talk Talk," and name of the song is "Talk Talk." Not sure how many times that has ever happened.

8) (poppy wavy early TT)
Saw these guys open for Elvis Costello and the Attractions in Atlanta, think it was in the Omni, Waaayyy back in the day. Think it was on the Imperial Bedroom Tour. Remember that we had to park something like a mile from the venue and walk through a driving rain. Got there just in time to see Talk Talk play this. Ah, the memories..... Great song too. Interesting aside, name of the band is "Talk Talk," name of the Album is "Talk Talk," and name of the song is "Talk Talk." Not sure how many times that has ever happened.
Suddenly I am 19 again. And that is quite all right with me. Thanks whoever uploaded this!

cool song which doesn't sound quite like it's 20 years old :bounce: :bounce:
The only song that says 80's more than this is Tainted Love. Woohoo!
