Bruce was expensive - i paid a grand for two seats near the mixer - but it was about three hours long, full throttle (not like when Billie Joe Armstrong laid down on stage and noodled), and there were SEVENTEEN musicians on stage the whole time, with Tom Morello helping out on some songs and Nils Lofgren on fire. People that work that hard need to get paid.

being an old guy....I'll take the shorter set.
I saw Sting last summer...great show and similar showtime. With opening act and break, maybe three hours total. Got home by 11.

Caught him, almost certainly for the last time, a few weeks ago. Still firing on almost all cylinders. But I noticed that Mighty Max seemed to stumble slightly a few times.
I suspect, after this very important tour that he threw together at the last minute, that he's pretty much done with touring. Take some time to 1) enjoy the fruits of his labor and 2) be with the wife who had cancer and 3) deal with his father's mental health legacy that he apparently struggles with himself to a lesser degree.
Here's the Bruce I saw first, and will always adore

One of Milli Vanilli is dead, of course. And they're a German lip-sync group.
No jazz or blues - an American source of pride
These look like the folks that couldn't even get on the B-listers roster. Pathetic trump administration unable to man up to a proper, competent, culturally appropriate 250th celebration.
Allegheny County, PA, has listed the Summer Concert acts. Here are the artists I want to see.
7/24 Ruthie Foster
7/31 Don McLean
8/14 Women in Jazz feat. Su Terry with Jazz de Barro, Camille Thurman with the Darrell Green Quartet
6/28 The Kings of Latin Jazz: Tito Puente, Jr. & Nestor Torres together!
7/19 Cyril Neville
8/2 The Wood Bros.
8/9 Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, and a must see. They opened for Koko Taylor in Rehoboth Beach and are the bomb.
All for free, too.
Cool. I was just looking at Musikfest in Bethlehem... ever been to that?

Cool! We have a couch to surf, in Littleton so it's a bit of a hike but... I'll be up front by the time Dawes comes on, usually left-center of the stage.

Jon Anderson & Band of Geeks at the Paramount Theater in Denver in July. We caught him there last year & it was awesome.
Awesome, indeed. Jon is firing on all cylinders and the addition of Chris Clark to the Band Geeks (although they're all ultra talented as well) cranked it all up a notch.
I'm hoping that they also start playing Jon's solo work, like Olias material or his stuff with Vangelis. The fans would be up for it, I reckon.
I'll be there on Saturday as well. My oldest best friend is coming up from Texas for the show & a couple days of backpacking after, else I'd offer you our spare room. We live about 15 minutes south of the event site.
oh wow. That's in the center city. Have a blast, fellers!
