'Cause all I do is lie
I feel like I'm laughing all the time
But all I do is cry
I want to go to heaven
Yeah, I want to go to heaven
But I don't want to die
I gave you it all, child
But I, I paid for that
You walked away from me
Yeah, you turned your back
I want to go to heaven
Yeah, I want to go to heaven
But I don't want to die
I'll take what you can give me
I'll use all I can use
Yeah, I'm sleeping with my worries now
I've nothin' else to lose
Yeah, I want to go to heaven
Lord, I want to go to heaven
But I don't want to die
Getting into the vault... 8 years since it was last played? Cool.
For those who don't get the "Texas" reference in a Scottish band, they took their name from the movie "Paris, Texas."
A friend was opening his own small record shop in the early nineties. He booked Sharleen Spiteri to sing at the opening ceremony. She was sitting on a stool next to me, chatting and drinking coffee. When they asked her to start, she binned her gum, put her mug down, and, with her guitarist, delivered an incredible unamplified acoustic set. Boy, that girl can sing!
GREAT!

Ha! I just came here to make this same comment! ('Cept, if you listen to Cheap Thrills again, Sharleen doesn't have anywhere near the frenetic intensity of TOAO JJ.) Cheers!
Edit: That said, I'd rather hear Texas than BB… now—Sharleen's goes down much easier than Janis's, for me, at this stage. :-)
they are a party band!
Never thought I should hear them here!
