You wake up to the sound of alarms and your
Driving your fabulous car
Listening to the music that reminds you
You used to be young you used to be young

And now you're searching, for a sign with your name
To define you the king of the game
What will you do when there's nothing left
For you to earn and for you to learn

So dose me up once is not enough
I can still see the ground
And from this high rise view looking down on you
I'm not the one wasting my time

And every culture has it's own magazine
And information takes the place of your dreams
Finding ways to fill up the silence
But it's all that you need turn on your tv

So dose me up once is not enough
I can still see the ground
And from this high rise view looking down on you
I'm not the one wasting my time

This is the end of the world news
This is the end of the world news sponsored by god

So dose me up once is not enough
I can still see the ground
And from this high rise view looking down on you
I'm not the one wasting my time

So dose me up once is not enough
I can still see the ground
And from this high rise view looking down on you
I'm not the one wasting my time

So dose me up once is not enough
I can still see the ground
And from this high rise view looking down on you
I'm not the one wasting my time

Not a fan of adolescent voices, but liking this one.

Born 1969. Released 2000. I think that makes Tom 31. It's possible he sat on a recording for a decade, but otherwise I think that's just his voice.
How can anybody vote this lower than 6? It's a gem
I don't know any of my friends that listen to Tom McRae but always a favorite
8 => 9
It's cool to hear music I grew up listening to playing on RP. Tom has a distinct sound I associate with my teenager years
Crowded House/Finn Brothers-esque
Maybe its the ear buds I'm listening with at the moment adding clarity/emphasis but, I'm diggin' the congas on this.

Funny!  Except I had to confirm that he in fact does not have a song titled "Beginning of the World News" as I could imagine starting and ending an album w/ this pair of tracks.  So double points on your sarcasm....my rating is still a 9 on this not-so-cheery tune.  LLRP!!

Same here...last time that is...now I'm going 8→9....I really like songs w/ deep lyrics like this one.  Long Live RP!!

I thought the exact same thing...And the lyrics would certainly fit.

There isn't a bad song on this album; absolutely amazing.

Same songs order today as back in February. Are these playlists all reruns?

I don't get it.  Occasionally there's a repeated playlist on RP.  So freakin' what?

February 2005?
A second Tom McRae song in 65 minutes? Not complaining at all - just a wee bit surprised. Just as well I think he's great :-)
I'm not familiar with this Man's work, but it is quite nice..

You should check out our Clear Channel stations where I live.  They do a playlist every hour...the same one...

When I was in high school, I did an internship at the local radio station.  The program directer had to fight management to keep a song from getting played more then once in a 4 hour stretch.  Of course, I lived in a black hole as far as radio stations went.  4 country music stations, 3 religious stations, 1 NPR station that played classical music about 70% of the time, and one Adult contempory station.  It was sad.  It's even worse there now, but I'm at the other end of the state, so I don't mind the fact that they have shat for radio there.

Boy, tough when Bill schedules you right after Gimme Shelter. Hard to evaluate this song on its own merits.

I know it's hard to believe, but Bill and Rebecca have to sleep SOMETIME. Ease up, man. c.
black, karma police, end of the world news...

And next should be "Five Years" by Bowie
This is new to me... and nice!

Dang! I checked out the lineup expecting Marianne, as well. Glad I'm not alone!
Rock is dead if this is what people listen to today This is like Bubble gum from the 70's except it rocks even less and uses fewer chord changes

I'm digging everything I hear from Tom McRae - his may have to be the next CD I pick up!
How is this album in general? Good like this song? :D
this song is so good. a well deserved 10 from me.
This song would segue really well into Demon Days.

Good song but it sounds like a female vocalist.
why the 'but'?
I'll try again, but this pass did nothing for me, thought the lyrics aren't awful.
Good song but it sounds like a female vocalist.
Remember buying this cd long time ago, mainly because of this song.
My first association, regarding his voice was....Marianne Faithful! It's also the sort of song she could sing. One of the more interesting, "new" artists I've heard lately. Makes me curious about other things he's done.
Music should be magic. This is music.

Yay! I was wondering when Tom McRae would be played on here. But he has much better tracks than this. Somebody should upload Walking to Hawaii. or if you check his live performance on KCRW Morning Becomes Eclectic archives.
Good suggestion, that tune has REALLY grown on me. Only ever heard it here.
He is really great live.
Wonderful lyrics. Why do I think of Donald Trump and dumbya Bush when I hear this song?
Tanita Tikaram should have sang this song. not bad though.
catchy

whiny whiny whiny-ass
:bananabanger:
It\'s a pretty good song, but what I really like is the way he says, \"neyews.\" :)
Holy moly. I thought this must be long lost Marianne Faithfull. He and Michael Miller really oughta get together.
This one should be in the rotation more often.
Still love this one.
Haunting, compelling
I did not dig this song at first, but now I like it more everytime I hear it. Love it
Play the rest of the CD - there isn\'t a bad track on it!
diggin it. very cool sound and a distinctive voice.
