I'm not sure Shpongle would have existed without this band...
So cool! Thanks RP!
Ed Wynne (as Roly and Sir David have done) still makes the World a far better place to live in.
In the early oughts, I wrote many thousands of lines of excellent code with Ozric burbling in my headphones.

They're not a full band anymore which is a shame because they put on one of the most mesmerising shows I've ever seen or heard. We were generally stoned which fitted perfectly with the vibe. Came out with huge smiles every time.
Of all the bands with "Tentacles" in their name, these guys are my favourite.
If nothing else is true about this band, the name fits completely. No telling why, though.

I have my friend Dr. Tim Dowd to thank for introducing me to Ozric Tentacles.  As a matter of fact,I have many things to thank him for.
Never had heard 'em before.  Thanks RP!
Had the pleasure of seeing OT in action a number of years ago - I cannot remember exactly where. All I can remember is it was trippy and good!
Oh, to be able to name an album, "Live in Zagreb."
maybe its the mushrooms on a bright fall-ish day
not quite Hawkwind

Right after starting to listening to RP, after 3 seconds I thought it must be Tangerine Dream.  Hm, I'll check them, never heard of them before.
It's 87 degrees  Fahrenheit, visibility is below one mile in smoke and the sun won't set for another month or so.

Thanks Rebbecca and Bill for reminding me of what awaits me!
A universal truth: "Ozric Tentacles, coming soon to a festival near you"

Nice track
Love the Ozric on Radio Paradise

Peace
Ed Wynne's solo album (2019) is a damn jewel. You have to listen to it and then buy it.
Thank you so much Bill for sharing your good taste.

Still a great pleasure to listen to them here in RP.
Not my fav... they have a lot of more organic stuff... with real drums, real bass, more interesting stuff.
Anyway, thanks a lot, Bill!

Never heard of OT. Leave it to Radio Paradise to enlighten. Thoroughly enjoyed the music. Added to my list.
Wow! I haven't heard OT in so many years, probably one of the best psych-rock bands ever!
Delightful.

Strange. It's supposed to relax people, but this mind numbing dribble just annoys me like hell. A firm 2 from me.
I can take this cheesy electronica music in very small doses but it gets old very quickly.

Now on the other Tentacle, the Small Greys are a lot more, ummmm, "humanesque" should I say.  Providing a dreamy sort o'sleep while carrying out their experiments.  The dreamy state is certainly important, particularly when the Probes are removed after obtaining the Necessary Precious Bodily Fluids.

As for me, the several Abduction Experiences which I have had were quite akin to this particular track.  The transportation motivator device enclosure from the Viewing Area over to the Implantation Area was accompanied by such sounds playing softly in the backgrounds.

Ah, such times we had, eh?  Not only at Area 51, but at the like totally out there Area 53 ... OMG! who would have ever guessed that about Elvis?

Say, were you able to figure out what kind of that Very Special Lubricant was used by those Aliens.  No matter what I use, I just simply do not get that same smooth glide ...  You know, the same glide feeling you get from the very fresh Shick Single Edge Razor Blade when Cutting bits of my Naughty Flesh.

Such a bad boy I am.

Er... I love this song, so I looked the album up on Amazon, and it turns out this song isn't on Spirals in Hyperspace, or at least not on the version linked to!

I found out it's really from Waterfall Cities.

Actually, I bought the album after listening to this song here on RP.  When I got the album I yelled "Yaaaaa, what is this ?", thinking I would get more "ambient" pieces like this one.  Woah! {#Eyes}  It sounded like Mahavishnu Orchestra on steroids!

But "Spirals in Hyperspace" is one my favorite albums now.{#Jump}

Just noticed this when I went to buy the song in iTunes—You can buy all of "Spirals in Hyperspace" but it doesn't have "Aura Borealis". If this song really is Aura Borealis, it is on Waterfall Cities.

Someone Has Blundered!

Or Aurora Borealis was already taken by Meat Puppets. . .. I prefer the MP song to this, but this does remind me more of the Lights.
It has been years since I have seen them. I live too far south, now and haven't been far enough up at the right times to see them.

Night music from guys in space.  This is John Tesh and I'll be bringing you music from space as we journey through the night.

Good, even though I much prefer their earlier stuff which was much more of a live "jam" band rather than studio knob twiddling.

Or perhaps the author (Ozrics) chose the word for a specific meaning? au·ra /ˈɔrə/ 1. a distinctive and pervasive quality or character; air; atmosphere: an aura of respectability; an aura of friendliness. 2. a subtly pervasive quality or atmosphere seen as emanating from a person, place, or thing. 3. Pathology. a sensation, as of lights or a current of warm or cold air, preceding an attack of migraine or epilepsy. or perhaps they were being drunk twits one day and said "no no no.. lets F with some english teacher's mind and spell it differently..."
Just picked up the newest album \"Too Far from the Floor\" the other day. Some great stuff; a bit trancier than even this, but some amazing sounds.
Nice...First time I've caught Ozric on RP. Should play Waterfall Cities from the same album. Much more energetic that this cut; although, this is certainly a nice piece of music too.
