Ten years, two-thousand stomach aches
If I get one every other day
Are we to have another century of guitar
When the best instrument in the world is still the piano?

🤔 Second brain 🧠 is the gut, yes?!
This being from 17 years ago, she’s evolved a lot. Her newer stuff is avant-grade guitar & electronic stuff. VERY cool, you should check it out!

My paternal grandmother was known by the nickname Kaki.
Never saw her name written, only heard it phonetically.

No comments in 11 years? Guess Bill reached into the darkest parts of his collection.

Ol' yarn-head. Yessir, that's what they used to call her back home.  She show'd em tho.

an amazing song by Kaki King. she performed it beautifully.

I have everybody loves you but i don't recall any vocals on that.  I like this track better than anything i remember off that one.
interesting voice - cut throught the clutter of my computeristic busyness - another excellent new (to me) female singer songwriter.  Move aside hoary old rock legends.
I think I must get this disk.
this entire CD is excellent...she came to some tiny club in Sacramento, Harlow's, I think, but I had to choose between Kaki King and Antje Duvekot...Antje won the contest and was excellent at the funky, cool/retro Sutter Creek Theater, but I really hope that Kaki comes to Sacramento soon, groovy red yarn and all

Why does this broad have red yarn on her face?

'cos she's feeling red, and she feels this is better than feeling blue.

Garfunkely
It's unique...I like it.

Thanks again RP!
Nice...

To me, it's got some lovely guitar work, but there is this annoying music box playing in the back ground.{#Drunk}
Simply WONDERFUL!

Liked it the first time I heard it. Liking it less and less with repeated listens. No staying power; now sounding like a bad TV commercial background.

Sorry to break your heart gents, but according to Wiki she's "an out lesbian".
Doesn't that make her even more appealing?

I know. I don't think that will stop me from crushing on her and her talent from a distance. Jessica Alba is a beautiful woman who deserves every Maxim spread she can get, but I'm pretty sure I'd rather be marooned with Kaki. :) -PL-

The chord progression in this song has a very striking resemblance to the venerable trilogy in d minor composed by Nigel Tufnel known as "Lick My Love Pump". Surely it was a strong source of inspiration for this song, as it has been for me in many of my Moch pieces.
made me weep instantly ;-) I do like this song pretty well though

Spot on brutha!
The instrument you hear in this number is, I think, a mbira, a thumb piano. ">

Very observant and exactly right. The overall song, however, is maybe a 6 or a 7.

Unless you're a female I don't think she yours, not even close. In any case I think she is a great live guitar player, amazing in fact. Too bad this track doesn't even come close to doing her any justice in that aspect.
Damn; another CD I'm gonna have to buy.
I love the guitarwork in this song.

Clearly we define "well" differently.

Yeah, after all, it doesn't take any brains to play guitar, especially that well. I'm sure Meydele plays much better. That's why we hear so much of Meydele on RP...

I was curious what she looked like based on that unusual profile on the cover and was that really her. Yeah, it is.
I think I'm in love.
This is pretty bad. Ok, very bad. Ick.
