I'm done with Sergio
He treat me like a rag-doll
She hides
The television
Says I don't owe him nothing,
But if he come back again
Tell him, wait right here for me
Or
Try again tomorrow
I'm gonna kick tomorrow
I'm gonna kick tomorrow
Jane says
Have you seen my wig around?
I feel naked without it
She knows
They all want her to go
But that's O.K. man
She don't like them anyway
Jane says
I'm going away to Spain
When I get my money saved
I'm gonna start tomorrow
I'm gonna kick tomorrow
I'm gonna kick tomorrow
She get mad
and she start to cry
She take a swing man
She can't hit
She don't mean no harm
She just don't know (Don't know, don't know)
What else to do about it
Jane goes
To the store at 8:00
She walks up on St. Andrew's
She waits
And gets her dinner there
She pulls her dinner
From her pocket
Jane says
I ain't never been in love
I don't know what it is
She only knows if someone wants her
I wonder if they want me
I only know they want me
She gets mad
And she starts to cry
She takes a swing man
She can't hit!
She don't mean no harm
She just don't know (Don't know, don't know)
What else to do about it

i'd love to hear coming down the mountain.
have you ever heard Three Days ?
God awful and yet constantly played. I hate it.
Learn how to use the "skip buttonn". ...problem solved!!
So called "Alternative" or Grunge, wasn't just a Fad, it was a Frequency.
If you weren't capable fo Tuning into that gritty Vibe, living out the greasy Lows and euphoric Highs - you won't "get it" ~ I guess. (Your Loss.)
This whole album is a Trip down Memory Lane: a shaky snapshot in faded colour wash, threadbare and torn, brittle and soft.
Cool song with great lyrics. Written with great empathy for the main character. Only a few artists can capture a character like that in their songwriting. Some that come to mind: Warren Zevon, Bruce Springsteen, Willie Nile, Paul Simon.
GREAT TUNE! I like it! Very happy. ...everybody sing along!
Great song but for me it's still in Overplayed territory. Something else from the album would be interesting...
i'd love to hear coming down the mountain.
Why has this taken so long to get into rotation? It's brilliant! People love it!

Lead singer Perry Farrell says there was an actual Jane with a heroin habit and an abusive boyfriend named Sergio. They lived with him and others in a group house in Hollywood when the band was forming in the early '80s.
"One of my housemates was Jane, this strangely beautiful, well-to-do girl who got caught up in the drug scene and fell in love with a dealer named Sergio"
Oh and yes she did eventually get to go to Spain and it took some time but she eventually got over her drug problems. ❤️

The 'Jane' was real - his empathy was real - hence the band's name ............ "Jane's Addiction" ............. in honor of Farrell's housemate, Jane Bainter, who was their muse and inspiration."
Am I the only one who thinks Perry Farrell sounds a lot like Richard Butler of the Psychedelic Furs?

Butler on helium? Maybe...

From the Kettlewhistle Album ? Yes, absolutely.
GREAT! ...I wonder if they are using REAL steel drums, or are they sampled?
REAL! https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
One of the Best of the 80s
terrible vocals
almost Smashing Pumpkins "bad"
Depending on the year and location, I may have been in that mosh pit.
I was at Saratoga PAC for that Lollapalooza and while I am pretty sure I saw god during Souixie, coming down from tripping balls during a 20 minute Sex is Violent Jam was not the music I needed then and there...I since have re-found my love for Jane's. Oh to be in my 20s again... This gets an 8 from me now but the day after that show I would have given it -8.

PS - I you want to quit Heroin don't wait until tomorrow
Intense memories wrapped in this whole album. Living in the warehouse district, Vancouver, Canada - when it was still gritty and rough, long before gentrification. Bed made up from buddies working demolition - swinging from chains, climbing up the waterpipe to crawl into my little nest. Artists, musicians, dancers, actors, freaks ~ all living illegally across the street from the old steam clock.
Not sure what happened bu the Main Mix is not doing it for me today.
Nothing is.
I belive Perry himself creates them.
