I'm a reader and lover of language but hadn't come across the word "pataphysical" before. Looked it up -- great word. Thanks Cosmo ...and Bill! (Enjoyed the song too.)
I think he's channeling the Ray Conniff Singers here. This is giving me bad flashbacks to sitting in the back seat of our white 1957 Ford Fairlane and hearing the bland, mainstream, American pop music playing on our parents favorite AM radio station. I really cannot hear him without Charlie & The Chocolate Factory coming to mind - and I do not mean that in a good way. Weird yes, but for me not very interesting.
