I woke up feeling great
The birds are in the trees
They're singing me a melody
La-la-la-la, fork the police
My head is on straight
My heart is peace
My soul is incredibly
Ready to change history

It's a good day
To fight the system
(To fight the system)
It's a good, good, good day
It's a good, good, good day

We're never gonna stop
We're gonna make it count
When one of us is tired out
The other one will hold it down
We're gonna spread the love
We're gonna spread it round
We're all over the city now
And way down in the underground (come on)

It's a good day
To fight the system
(To fight the system)
It's a good, good, good day
It's a good, good, good day
It's a good day
To fight the system
(To fight the system)
It's a good, good, good day
It's a good, good, good day

It's a good, it's a good, it's a good, it's a good
It's a good, it's a good, it's a good
It's a good, it's a good, it's a good, it's a good
It's a good, it's a good, it's a good
It's a good, it's a good, it's a good, it's a good
It's a good, it's a good, it's a good
It's a good, it's a good, it's a good, it's a good
It's a good, it's a good, it's a good

It's a good day
To fight the system
(To fight the system)
It's a good, good, good day
It's a good, good, good day
It's a good day
To fight the system
(To fight the system)
It's a good, good, good day
It's a good, good, good day

Yeah, I always wonder whatever happened to all those hippies at Woodstock.  Guess they got a little older and decided they liked The Man.  Not all of them, but certainly most.

Her biography is an interesting read.

It not take much time for a smart ass political comment to appear whenever an even vaguely political song is played here. I keep wondering, people are paid to do this sort of thing, or is it just their sweet alt right self.

Wait a sec... "fork the police" is "vaguely political"?

But one might be wrong.
Law enforcement, far and away, keeps the peace.  Violence occurs in a miniscule fraction of officer-citizen interactions, and almost always caused by failure to comply with lawfully given instructions.

But it's controlled chaos.

The video for this song perfectly suits the feel of this song, I couldn’t take my eyes off of it. Track it down.
This is a definite earworm. Woke up this morning with it going on in my head. Brings a smile to the dial
A nice song to hear the morning of Election Day.

You're about forty years too late to enlighten me with your new found philosophy. But thanks anyway. Glad to hear you're learning some things.

What are you talking about?
What system? I see chaos.

Thanks - you just made my point! I don't really care for this song and posted my opinion. Never said it was unAmerican, that's on you!

apparently you think that protesting is unAmerican.   You could not be more wrong.
I think the album cover photo is her as a child.
It's starting to seem like this song is on every day, but there's only been 10 plays in the past month.

Would be great to hear this right after:
I fought the law and the law won! 😆
Very cool tune
Thanks
It’s a good day to send a few bucks to Dems up and down the ballot.
It's a good day to PSD.

Do point to the part of the Constitution that says you have that Right?
No, that ain't it.
 Not there either.
It is not in there, BUT there is that other place that says "If it isn't in here, the States get to make the decision" and there is where you get to go make whatever laws you want, as long as it doesn't try to take away Rights conveyed in the rest of the Document. Tricky, I know, but this should be covered in grade school at best, High School at the latest.

Or one can go and set their hair alight and run in circles, declaring stupid things.

No, the Constitution and Bill of Rights do not say there is an explicit right to an abortion. But let me ask you this: Does the Constitution or Bill of Rights give you a right to marry the person you want? Even if you are straight? No, it doesn't.  There's nothing in the Constitution or Bill of Rights that says you have the right to marry the person you love. The right for you to marry the person you want is derived from the Bill of Rights.

The right to privacy - which is the basis for many decisions, including Roe - is derived from the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments. If you have no right to privacy for a personal decision - such as to have an abortion - then do you really have a right to marry the person you want?

Because you have no privacy, can the government now tell you when you can have sex? How many children you can have? All of these decisions - which had been between two consenting adults - are now subject to government fiat under the Roe decision.

Don't believe me? Wait until Griswold falls and states will move to outlaw the use contraceptives for adults in a marriage. You don't think that will happen? Justice Thomas has already said all the decisions determined on the same basis as Roe should be overturned. Griswold v. Connecticut is one of them.

My suggestion is be careful what you wish for. The Supreme Court came for Roe. It's not likely they are going to stop there.

P.S.: Want to bet that Thomas doesn't want to overturn Loving v. Virginia? Look it up then look at whom Justice Thomas married. The only rights that matter to that hypocrite are the ones that protect him.  Otherwise he wants to impose his morals upon the rest of us. I, for one, do not consent.

Sept. 13, 2022, update:

You said this was an issue that belonged to the states. If that's true, why did U.S. Sen. Lindsay Graham propose a bill today that would essentially ban abortion nationwide? Was this really a states' rights issue or was it just an excuse to get a rejection of Roe through the federal courts? Can you take any of these ideologues at their word?

It doesn't occur to me that that post was dismissive, rather it was offering a way forward to achieve that change.

there might be a 100 reasons to fight the system, agreed.
But with this anthem, the revolution might be short-lived.

I’m also one of the grey hairs, and I can still cope with lots of different genres and ages of music. That's why I listen to Radio Paradise. Being 'elderly and eclectic' are not mutually exclusive.

Brilliant song. It sounds a bit Ani Di Franco (in a good way)!

But y'all won't add the Khruangbin tunes I've uploaded...
