Hey baby, do you wanna take a trip with me?
Got a feeling there might be
A silver lining all around

Hey maybe, we could drive the whole night through
See what this old truck can do
I've only driven it in town

Hey baby, I hope it all works out
It always works out

Hey baby, do you wanna go to Mexico?
Or take Ten west to the coast
And One up to the bay

You know what's crazy?
never seen a mountain range
In a hundred miles a lot can change
If clouds aren't in the way

Hey baby, I hope it all works out
It always works out

So many things I thought I'd never see
Like you sittin' shotgun starin' back at me

Days are shady way up here in the trees
No place I'd rather be
Nothing's gonna bring me down

Hey baby, I hope it all works out
It always works out

Hey baby, I hope it all works out
It always works out

I was at my desk in the leafy suburbs of Nairobi one sunny morning. I heard a tune that I liked, so put down what I was doing and checked out the Bio. 'Based in Minneapolis' jumped out at me.  I was booking flights for our annual fly/drive someplace in America. We had already decided to start our Northern States Express tour in Minneapolis.  Checked out the website and they were playing at home the one night we were going to be there.  The place was called 'Dusty's, Dagos and Liquor.' Cool joint.  The first set was in the back garden early and full of families with lots of kids.  Everybody dancing. Got talking with a chick and she turned out to be the sister of the drummer.  Her sister was married to the lead guitar player.  Brilliant.  I relayed the story of tracking down the band from Kenya. They thought  I was crazy.  They played a harder set inside later.  Drove west the next morning humming a happy tune. Thanks Bill and gang.

not untintentional perhaps - the album cover is 'so sixties'

Me too, but in a good way.
Gentle rockabilly that hits my Southern ears just right.  Harmonies are tight!
The Cactus Blossoms > The Gin Blossoms
William, Alana, love this band, a great discovery thanks!! But, this song and "Ballad of an unknown" are getting too way much rotation lately. Can we take a break or hear something different from CB's?

... and a bit of Buddy Holly?

I would bet that these guys listened to a lot of BoDeans growing up. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Maybe some Chris Isaak too...

All you have to do is dream, Gustaaf.....as in that was the song by the Everly pair BillG played right before, in about the least subtle segue he's ever graced us with; LLRP!!
very cool
Thanks
Really liking these brothers! Such playful, clever, well-constructed guitar work and harmonies, and a rocking beat!
The Cactus Blossoms representing Minneapolis- wonderful to hear them back to back with the Everly Brothers! Thanks for giving these guys attention 🥰
Nice. Love good alternative country
Do I hear a hint of Everly Brothers?
Nice. Mark Knopfler can safely retire now

Solid 8.
Love hearing new things on RP.  Thanks.
