This is what it feels like walking in a straight line
Stray talk clicking in my ear
This is what it feels like
Cliff dive broken mind
Wondering how I got here

A million times tongue tied
Spit it out
Never mind
I think I’m addicted to the fear
Stutter in my heart
From the hurry up
Stop dragging my heels around
Dragging my heels around

But that was then and this is now
I tried so hard not to let you all down
It’s an impossible weight
So I’ll just let you down now

[Sharon Van Etten]
Steady as the wheel turns
On my way it’s ok
Picking up the pieces
Put ‘em down
Stutter in my heart
From the hurry up
Stop dragging my heels around
Dragging my heels around
Dragging my heels around

But that was then and this is now
I tried so hard not to let you all down
But that was then and this is now
I tried so hard not to let you all down
It’s an impossible weight
So I’ll just let you down now

It’s an impossible weight
It’s an impossible weight

But that was then and this is now
I tried so hard not to let you all down
It’s an impossible weight
So I’ll just let you down now

yes, i like the 80's retro sound!  Nice pick guys!
LLRP!!!
Yeah back in 2005 I was already like "I can't do this anymore" with FM radio.  Never listened to it again, wayyy too many ads and the same 20 songs.  Went to satellite radio for a few years until it had the same problem with repeating playlists, and eventually found Radio Paradise and Dynamic Range Radio (which I think is long gone).

KEXP has several videos  of this local band, but I love this one in-studio where they talk about how the album was released just as Covid hit, so they had to sit and watch it run its race without being able to tour behind it. When they actually did get to play live, the crowds were great but it looks like the videos that were up have been removed. Ah well.

This one is a chat with her about the process of making this song. Super geeky but fascinating and I like her more than ever now.

KEXP is a damn good station, heck RP  and a couple of other stations is why i don’t listen anymore to commercial music radio anymore

Very likeable pop, as if a tad of rock had been dropped into a glass of Loquat sound

After actually seeing how they lay tracks then combine them is pretty cool. Didn't think there was much geekiness, just, a knowledgeable convo about the production process. Seems to def have an abundance of talent & skills! Thanks for sharing link!

This definitely has a nice 1982-1983 alternative rock sound... a bit of that Berlin, Motels, and Kim Wilde flair.
I like it...

Reminds me of OK Go and The Dresden Dolls, fun!

Or does she contribute to RP.
Starting at an 8 - Sharon Van Etten... nice  - she's new to me and for that I thank BillG and Rebecca!

Yes. Only on this song from the album.

All right, Radio Paradise! Scattering the stream with lots of bright, shiny new gems for me to marvel at and admire! Thanks! I'm loving the singing and JAM in this!
Love it. I love when composers get annoyed when have to write out these sort of timing schemes.
never heard this band before ... it's a solid 7 for a start
