People have found workarounds in the past but Amazon keeps 'fixing' those.
TuneIn is currently the best option for speaker groups unfortunately.
I'm doing single room streaming. And it worked for two days. Amazingly well, I might add. I have the Echo subwoofer, and had to dial it back.
But. This shouldn't be happening. It's broken code. (I know broken code because that's the only code I ever wrote.) Now I need to go look for people I mentored or worked with who are now at Amazon to try to get this fixed.
I'll observe that on the day when the Echo set stopped working, my Roon devices (KEF LS50 Wireless, KEF LSX wireless) also couldn't stream RP. Made me think it was an RP problem. Coincidence? Dunno. Maybe.

I've got an Echo Studio that I used to use to listen to Radio Paradise with the skill. Seeing people talk about this failing a couple weeks ago, but it worked fine for me as recently as Christmas day. Got a second Studio for Christmas - set up up as a stereo pair. Listened to RP on Christmas day, and the next day, and then BAM, the skill stopped working. When I ask for Radio Paradise, I get the flickering acknowledgement lights, and then dead air. I got rid of the skill, reinstalled, no joy. (BTW, a stereo pair of Echo Studios sounds really good playing Radio Paradise... for the two days it worked for me.)
I think the skill is broken. Code does break. I put in a problem ticket (open the skill, scroll down, you can put in a problem ticket.) But I suspect if BillG reached out to his contact at Amazon, he'll get more traction than any one of us.

Sounds like the problem described below, where our skill is not working properly on older Echo units. The only solution we're aware of is to switch to using TuneIn.

JRRClocks wrote:I have five Echos around my house, two 2nd gen standard models, two old Echo Dots, and an Echo Spot. Each of these will "Play RP on Tune-in" just fine, but when I ask one to "Play Radio Paradise", only the two Dots work correctly. As for the other three, each one offers the usual RP greeting, but then does not play any music. The Echo Spot, with the display screen, shows the RP logo and "Radio Paradise", and has a blue band circling the screen as though the stream is playing. When I tell them to stop, they all say, "Music paused", just like they know what they are doing.
The WiFi bands to which each Echo is connected, does not seem to have any bearing (didn't expect it to), but to check, I have one of the Dots connected to each band, and both work like they are supposed to. I have tried changing the band on the others, but they still don't play the stream. I'm not doing any tricky stuff, like stereo or multi-room play.
Any ideas?
There may be an issue on gen1 devies that will require an update by Amazon. But it doesn't sound like you have any of those. I have seen things get bugged and require the skill to be disabled and reenabled. Give that a try if you haven't. The echo spot should definitely work. ( Listening on one right now )
