So just now, I clicked on #smoke on Twitter. I was expecting, perhaps 'hoping' is a better word, to find information on wildfires given how human-caused wildfires are still raging in Alberta and filling vast swathes of North American airsheds with smoke. Heavy rain has put out most wildfires in British Columbia.
Well, I found some commentary on wildfires.
I also found short video clips of scantily dressed, usually heavily-made up young women smoking cigarettes and cigarillos, pictures of big thick cigars and glasses of liquor, videos of a man anal-penetrating another man — hard, a woman anal-licking another woman, etc. More tasteful was the video clip of some dude waking and baking with a water pipe. Children: be sure to wake & bake before you head to class this morning.
Sure Elon..... This will save US democracy. Absolutely.
I thought of posting to #smoke and telling everybody that folks of low socio-economic status are the ones that continue to smoke tobacco. Instead, I decided to come here and 'share'. Or is that vent?

I saw a theory posted elsewhere that this is a 'Brewster's millions' situation, and he'll be cut out of a larger fortune unless he finds a way to blow 44 billion dollars this year. If that proves true, I'll rescind my criticism.
Elon Musk is being characteristically optimistic. The billionaire owner of Twitter has offered stock grants to the social media appâs shrunken staff at a valuation of about $20 billion, less than half the price he paid in October. In fact, based on Twitterâs operating performance, the effects of leverage and public market comparisons, the equity is probably worthless.
I'm talking more about personalities. Take the recently deceased David Crosby. Often described as acerbic, to put it nicely, but still an amazing musician. ..although he seemed to mellow a bit last few years.
Then it would be OK to batch Woody with Croz, as well as Elon.
Paypal was floundering under his lead. The board removed him while he was out of town and installed Peter Theil (also a notorious asshole). Theil was responsible for the progress that led to the sale to Ebay where Musk first cashed out really big. He bought his way into Telsa (and brought other needed funding as well), but it was Ze'ev Drori that is generally credited with getting the roadster from prototype to product, and he has said that it was the effort of the entire team. He was much more instrumental in founding Space X, but the idea of reusable rockets was already well established and despite his history as a coder, he certainly wasn't 'building rockets' as his fanbase likes to say. And Space X wouldn't be around without some healthy government contracts to support it's endeavors. I'm sure I'm missing others too. He's certainly got a knack for being a public face, but he's hardly the business genius/ real life Tony Stark that he likes appear to be.
HIs only "skill" is marketing himself; and that seems to be failing.

Or get publicly released from your NDA, then get set up for a couple of lawsuits for defamation and disclosure of private health information. I knew a little about this guy previously, but hadn't read the full backstory. He basically took wages in lieu of a cash payout for his company to *maximize* his tax burden. He did this because it was an efficient way for him to get money back into Iceland's public welfare system that had supported him for years. He also had the title of something like acquired founder which basically meant he had no responsibilities and couldn't be fired for 'doing no work', although most reports paint him as a productive innovator and leader in his organization.
Now that he's fired Twitter is on the hook for the balance of his payout, which could be near 100 million. That's before the public disclosure, defamation and wrongful termination suits. It must be huge, because the lawyers (or some remaining adult) at twitter actually got him to issue an apology pretty quick.
He can probably file for unemployment insurance too. Don't know about Iceland's laws but don't companies have to pay part of that?
