i think my ex-husband had a copy of this (maybe not an original like this) and i remember being really surprised. i was only familiar with the stuff i heard on corporate classic radio growing up. it is really interesting. and, got me to read a salty piece of land, or maybe it was a pirate looks at 50. i can't remember - i do remember whichever it was, i loved it. i'm sad he's gone.
you've got some really fantastic vinyl, kurt! i love seeing what you post share.
i had never seen it. i'll never forget it. and then, a few days later bowie passed. i felt like i cursed him by seeing this or something, i was devastated. (but, i know he was very ill.)
Well, if it helps, I still maintain that David Jones is alive somewhere enjoying his life after his on-stage heart attack scare. In none of the photos supposedly taken before he died does he looks like someone ill, just old. However, the Man Who Sold the World, Ziggy Stardust, the Diamond Dog, the Man Who Fell to Earth, the Coffee Achiever, the Thin White Duke, and David Bowieâ¦theyâve all been killed off by Mr. Jones. Check the harmonica in his last song on his last album - reminiscent of A New Career in a New Town.
08/11/2023 Worldwide The final appearance of Ziggy. First time the entire unedited concert was released on vinyl and stripped back down to eliminate all the treatments done over the years that weren't all that great. Jeff Beck tracks returned and the full 15 minute The Width Of A Circle. I likey.
OH MY GOSH. that's so cool. The Width of a Circle is one of my top 5 very favorite bowie tunes. i bet this is amazing with headphones.
several years back, right before he passed away, i was living in lexington, ky and the local (very old, and gorgeous) theater showed the motion picture. it was incredible. i had never seen it. i'll never forget it. and then, a few days later bowie passed. i felt like i cursed him by seeing this or something, i was devastated. (but, i know he was very ill.)

The early pressings, like this were cut off speed by 8% faster than it was supposed to be. It was only recently corrected when his big box set came out, which was a disaster because of non existent QC. It is a nice album, very listenable for his first effort. I'll dig up my rip from the box set and see what I have to do to fix it. Perhaps a pm in the future.
wow. you always blow me away with your knowledge of this stuff. that's way beyond my scope.
and awesome. thanks.
US Unknown "DJ Copy" Known as a counterfeit pressing.
wow! very cool. i only recognize she's got a way and everybody loves you now from the tracks. i'll have to check it out.

I thin Imma gonna have to get this. The lineup, had no idea. Jerry Shirley was the drummer for Humble Pie and he was here in Cleveland with a morning drive radio gig here for about 10 years back in the 80's / 90's. Peter Brown worked on the Cream albums.

very cool. i didn't know any of that, obviously!
an old boyfriend from the early 90s had this album and i just remember really taking to it. he also had a copy of the ABKCO Masters (i may be spelling that wrong) if you're a big Stones fan. it had songs on it i had NEVER heard and still love to this day. including a cover of the stevie wonder song I Don't Know Why (which i had no idea was a cover!) other songs i recall loving were Need A Yellow Cab, Let's Go Steady and Family. i somehow lost my copy of this and it still pisses me off. it was great. that boyfriend really turned my musical ears on to so much i never would have known about. deep cuts of T-Rex stuff, Love, Spirit, the Seeds, etc. he had a super extensive vinyl collection and i really got into that. good times.
oh, wow!!! i just figured you'd have heard it before. but, you're welcome. enjoy! i also liked effervescing elephant and gigolo aunt if i remember...haven't heard them in a while, though.

Thanks. My collection is so disorganized I see stuff and then forget where it was and can't find it, so I move on to something else. This album hasn't seen a turntable since it was new 50 years ago. I now remember why, it was crappy, noisy pressing, made during the oil embargo. There is a period in the early 70's when GB / UK vinyl was really shitty because they were using lower quality material and using a lot of recycled ground up vinyl. It was nice to hear it inspite of the noise and give it a serious listening.
Baby Lemonade is on this album which I never really knew much about. Never released here in the states and I was more than likely bummed with the Madcap pressing and didn't go any further. I'm going to look into it further. Baby Lemonade sounds very nice at first listen. Thanks for turning me on to it.
