My Mom aka birth mother and woman who raised me in my youth, died when I was 3 years old... 57 years ago!

For me, Barbara Billingsley was the iconic TV mom of the late '50s - early '60s. Although it's often noted that she wore a pearl necklace and high heels to do housework, it would have been unusual for any of the women in my childhood neighborhood not to have worn a dress around the house. Although Leave It to Beaver was the idealized, every-problem-can-be-fixed-in-30-minutes version, June Cleaver was pretty similar to the moms I saw in those days. I'm saddened by the passing of Ms. Billingsley.

Aww... At least she lived a long life and was loved by millions. That's a lot more than most moms will get in these days of dying dharma.

Leave it to Beaver was one of my favorite shows. When they were filming the new one at Universal down here in the 90's, I met her and Ken Osmond (Eddie Haskell).

have you ever seen the TV show Leave it to Beaver? it was made in the late 50s. she was the mom.
worth looking up a few old episodes, even if they're just parts from the show from youtube.
