Once was a sweet thang baby, held our love in our hands
Now I reach to kiss your lips, the touch don't mean a thing
And that's a cold shot baby, yeah that's a drag.
A cold shot baby, I let our love go bad

Remember the way that you loved me, do anything I say
Now I see you out somewhere, you won't give me the time of day
And that's a cold shot darlin', yeah that's a drag
That's a cold shot baby, we let our love go bad

I really meant I was sorry, for ever causin' you pain
You showed your appreciation, by walkin' out anyway
And that's a cold shot baby, yeah that's a drag
That's a cold shot baby, we let our love go bad

Don't let our true love run cold baby

Right
It was was all the notes he didn't play that were most impresive.
I always thought he was saying, "And she likes to go shopping. "

I believe the correct characterization is "cool"

Sadly I was made aware of Stevie as a teenager only because of his tragic death.  American Treasure.  If you can find the video of him playing the El-Macambo in Toronto, its worth the watch.
I really like Stevie Ray, he is great!!! I had never listened Stevie that often, prior to RP. Now, his tunes are starting to sound similar to each other. Still great!!!
EXCELLENT!!
I cognitively understand that the dude was brilliant, but emotionally this does zero for me...its a yellow/orange for this rater...
Good night to go shopping

This was my exact impression of Vernon Reid. Even playing "Cult of Personality", he gave the impression that he might start flossing his teeth at the same time. He made it look mundane.
Incredible bluesman whom I was lucky enough to see in 1983; worked his butt off getting the crowd into a frenzy which was achieved by 'Voodoo Chile' although I was hooked from the first note!!! Genius
Reading1983
I can't believe that anyone could possibly rate this song lower than a 10.  SRV was simply inhuman in his playing.  It's like GOD revealed Himself through the sounds coming from the angel that was SRV's guitar.

That....OR....He was an unbelievably good axe man...yeah...that!  This one's a 9 to me....Long Live RP!!
When it came out we first heard it on a distant AM station while crossing Texas. We loved Stevie and listened attentively, but with the reception it sounded like he was singing "Let's Go Shopping". My brain still goes there when I hear this song.

Albert King & Stevie Ray Vaughan - Match Box Blues
super excellent

Do you realize he's doing something with an instrument that literally millions of people play—that only a handful could ever do? Maybe he repeated it because he could—and you can't.

He'd play until the calluses ripped and bled, then superglued them back in place to play some more.
What a gift this man had. Such a pity he died so young.

Now all thats needed is some Bonnie Rait song followed by a Pretenders one and I could be listening to KFOG.....

NOT a good thing in this case....

Well put in a strange yet understandable way.

Wooo Yeah! Now this is what we're talkin about!

Thanks for playing "Scuttlebuttin'" yesterday...

this guitar tone.. it is a seal of his songs. amazing! maybe the most talented player lived on earth..
I saw Mr Hendrix numerous times and loved everytime I saw him tho several times truthfully he wasn't in best form but  still was pretty amazing. I also saw SRV lots of times and even when he was stoned to the bone he played the crap out of that guitar and would be the first to tell ya he loved Hendrix as well as the other blues greats, both had amazingly powerfull hands and just assaulted the guitar. Clapton said of the night Stevie died when he had the unenviable job of following Stevie everybody knew who was the BEST, I would have loved to watch all those players faces as they watched Stevie squeeze notes out of that guitar. Of course Hendrix did break ground with his guitar and amp and vitamin C helped him to go places nobody had been before

Why do people always mention hendrix when t SRV is played? SRV was a good guitar player with some cool songs.Hendrix on the other hand was a force of nature, a musical genius, incredibly creative and innovative with a truly exceptional ability to translate feelings into sound, oh yes, and he could play the guitar pretty well too.

Can't get enough of Stevie. And having seen Jimi live, I can tell you I am a fan of the Experience. But I'm also into Robin Trower. So, yeah, Jimi led the way (after picking up tricks from several others, including Buddy Guy), but SRV has his own spot in the limelight. In a recently video I watched, Double Trouble stated that they never had a "set list," that they just had to interpolate wherever Stevie was going and follow along. After watching his performance, I gotta tell you that that's somethin'!

One of the best videos ever went with this song.

Jimi's talent was not really a matter of "getting to the well first" but a matter of sheer creativity, musicality and innovativity IMO.

I don't like it when people say this. Both had completely different styles, and I'm afraid they aren't comparable. It's like trying to compete Robert Johnson and Clapton, it just ain't happening. Jimi revolutionized rock and created the experimental rock that continues to progress this facet of music. Stevie Ray revolutionized the Blues. In my opinion, Jimi just wrote better, more beautiful music. The man created the entire show. It WAS the Jimi Hendrix EXPERIENCE. Where the centerpiece of Stevie's shows was his guitar playing, Jimi was an mystery inside an enigma wrapped up in a burrito. He completely took you on a trip to where you could never go alone. I like Stevie, but most of his music is rehashing old Blues tunes. It would have been nice had he really started more of his own songs. But Jimi, in my opinion, was the better artist. He had the guitar, but I don't think he relied on it.
Totally agree with this, even though Stevie was good, he certainly was no Jimi IMO.

Good point, but given the fact that SRV is a rare find on any radio these days, any SRV is better than no SRV. Keep it coming RP, with some fresher tracks to boot.
