Nights we hide between the walls and voices leading on the ground
Arms reaching out, hoping for the chance to start
Hearts holding out waiting for the bells to

Bring my words to all of you and if they ever hear my voice
Hold me in your thoughts laid out twisted in defense,
Hoping for the chance to start

Hearts holding out waiting for the bells to
Send my love to all my friends and if I never make it back
To hold you in my arms again not letting go this time

Never would have known about Calexico without RP...thanks to the intro to this and so many other great bands!

I Agree!  Thanx RP!
I Saw them live in Cologne Germany. It was (i´m not sure 2016,2017 or 2018). They played this song aswell. It was brilliant as the whole concert!
Great!

This is one of the many reasons why I don’t listen to commercial music radio too much with their SSDD crap

Completely agree. Went and saw them last Friday. If you have a chance you should too.

Good to hear he has finally shaped his sound into something more rounded and less duplicitous..

I concur ! 100%
A lesser masterpiece. Resting on laurels, as it were.

You are right, the studio version is on Algiers but this live version is on Spirotoso

Yes, and Joey has a tendency to sing live quite differently than the studio version....not sure what it may be "called" when a singer does this. I find it a tad disconcerting...But still my favorite band of all time LIVE!!!

I have the album on vinyl sitting right here next to me but it's called "Algiers" instead of "Spiritoso". Same cover, same song.
So sais the interweb on their wikipedia article.

Was that released by a different name too?

{#Heartkiss}  Great song - thanks Bill, can't get enough of this band  {#Cheers}
My wife & I had a chance to see Calexico when they played a free concert on the New Haven Green this past summer. They opened with this number and put on a great performance!
Love this song!

Very nice song!
you think bill is fixated? good band ,  many plays all good
This live version is actually from the album Spiritoso

I like everything this talented, diverse, passionate band does! This is subdued compared to others, including on this album, but it's good!
The regional public radio station plays these guys every now and then, too. The more I hear, the more I like! Time to go buy some!
Another great discovery!
Agreed - a great live show. Saw them at the Bluebird in January - I had high expectations and it was so much better than I had hoped. {#Dancingbanana}
Tingly...
Best live band ever.........see them!
Oooooohhhhh   - first chance to comment, if I give a 10 then that's going to push it well up the rankings!!
