Anyone else think this was an instrumental of Steve Miller’s ‘Abracadabra’ for just a second?
Carlos. Is one of the greatest guitar players in the World. Should be higher on the Rock n Roll list.

This one picture of these three homely women completely makes up for all the bad shit the internet brings... totally worth it. Depression, anxiety, suicide, addiction, the corrosive effects on humanity, democracy, the truth, society in general...totally worth it.

I found this album in a clearance bin at Farm and Fleet (Think Costco for midwestern farm families). One of the best discoveries I've ever made.

Danny Gatton is the most talented multi-style guitarist. Right here in our nation’s Capitol region!

Sorry but this sounds like a demo song on a cheap keyboard. Otherwise I really like Santana, but this is not their best song to me.

Sure. Quite obviously a "brilliant" guitarist but to me this is simply tedious. "Ho hum" would seem appropriate, but even I can't give it a number as low as "3". "Acceptable" it is. But I can see why people like it, it's very accomplished.

This made me think, I am pretty sure I found RP through the radio station header on AOL. It took me few years of listening before I joined. Lots of love from Sun Prairie as well.
they all play:
Carlos Santana – guitar (tracks 3-10), producer
Jorge Santana – guitar (tracks 1, 4-5, 7 & 9-11), producer
Carlos Hernandez – guitar (tracks 1-2 & 7-10)

I'm probably going to be stoned to death for saying this, but Santana is way overrated.  He's got a real distinct sound, and he's no slouch... but all this grouping him with true legends I feel is inaccurate.  Meh.

Rythmwise it has something form OfLH but isn't that because it is a bossa nova?
I note days in July. It's the month of my late parents' wedding anniversary, July 25. That is one day before the birth date of one of my favorite movie directors, Stanley Kubrick. And July 20 is the birthday of this here guitarist, born July 20, 1947. And I suppose that may be why Bill played it.
Happy birthday!  You da man. One of the very finest. I don't care what the haters here squawk about.

Ok, that fade from Greg Kihn's Remember into this was truly sublime, Bill. Flawless mix.

Like a Big Mac, you always know what to expect, and one day maybe that damn pickle won't catch in my throat, but that diddly-diddly twiddly bit close to the end is as predictable as any X-Factor key change, and that chocolate sauce at the bottom (!) of the ice cream is still as sickening! I mean, Big Mac and ice cream are OK, if nothing else is open, but not exactly first-date fare.

Props, not on the making fun of a spelling mistake, but doing so with such a HI-larious GIF. Santa instead of Santana kind of reminds me of when all the Sunday evening news anchors had to report on Osama bin Laden's death, only to say over-and-over "Obama's been killed."  At least with Santa/Santana/Satan we get good GIFs out of it.

Long Live RP!

(...and that's 13 of my 8s in a row....)

It's amazing how well he plays with those size hands...........................................
Simon! Muy bien. Carlos con sus hermanos. Ok, well I heard a story once from a Mexican, you know, a person born in Mexico, that is a musician and  told me that when Carlos was in his family's band in Mexico with his brother George, that they were invited to come to L.A. to do a test track but George couldn't get a visa or something and opted not to come to L.A.. At the time, George was the leader of their band, not Carlos. Interesting story, that I believe to be true.

Yeah, looks like a great show. Talented musicians, great energy, great jams, etc. Glad Santana is part of the eclectic mix here, but it's just not my cup of tea. No "hate" here though, just honest preference (whether uneducated or not).

Wouldn't  it be great if a band playing punk, thrash metal or gangsta rap took over a supermarket for a few hours? I know what you mean about submissiveness and complacency: all you have to do is look at the prepared "foods" and frozen "meals." Are they really what people want, or is that consumers couldn't hit the "Stop" button on the elevator ride down to the lowest common denominator?

I don't know what to make of Santana. A few of his albums from the 70s were brilliant but seemed to have lost popularity until "Supernatural." Some guitarists you'd think were Gods have limitations. There's a video on YouTube about the behind-the-scenes making of U2's "When Love Comes to Town", which they wrote for B.B. King. BB confides at one point, "You guys are gonna have to do the chords. I'm horrible at chords."
