Such a happy little song {#Bananajam}
I see they put a lot of effort into those lyrics.

This is the first song that made me a diehard Dandy Warhol fan. I want to learn the banjo when I retire.

Yep, that caught my ear as well (and the Blister in the Sun reference).  I'll admit, I really like that song Lady.

We all have songs that make us dance around the house (or want to, at any rate) and this is one of mine..

Lovin/ some Dandies! Saw their 20th anniversary party in Portland in December. So many infectious grooves. Even the old guys were dancing.

 Visited the island in June- life is definitely very good there.  Helluva downshift in temperature from Texas in June, I assure you. But frickin beautiful. Enjoy!

Cool song. Wondering .. why the brief ATC snippet at the end? Doesn't seem connected to the song.

Guesses:

1. Song written while on tour.  ATC snippet = flying home to the object of "Love Song."

2. Song is so elevating, somebody needs to be in charge of all of us floating upward.

3. These guys are weird, and they had to put in something to remind us.

Others?
This is the happiest song! I've got to give it a 10 just for the smile it puts on my face {#Jump}

Another one that has been growing on me lately.  I at first thought the instrumentals to be too repetitious and made it seem boring.  Now I'm hearing it from a somehow different perspective—think Glass in "Drumming"—and it is far more interesting.

Yes, there does seem to be an undercurrent of humor or occasional parody to their work.  Well, just look at their band name.  Good tune.

Exactly! Not that I don't like this song but can you play Lloyd Cole as well? Love Lloyd!

"Les Dandy Warhols font un retour fracassant avec ce 6ème LP, Earth To The Dandy Warhols qui regroupe les divers sons et influences qui caractérisent depuis toujours leur musique. Pied de nez à l industrie du disque le groupe a décidé de s'affranchir des majors et de sortir cet album sur son propre label, self-founded Beat the World Records label.

Avec les participations de Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) et Mike Campbell (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers)."

Yup, I agree... And I believe the Dandies, Courtney Taylor in particular, are responsible for the production. They need to hand over future production duties to someone else.
The band sure did seem to have a good time recording this album, though. Lots of trippy, psychedelic songs on this one. BTW, I would call the production muddy and muffled sounding rather than tinny (the word an earlier poster used to describe the sound).

Well, the master tapes are sitting somewhere. Maybe one day someone could give them a clean and polish and we can listen to the the music as it was intended.
 Poacher wrote:

I second that. Its a great album but almost unlistenable. Whoever did the production/engineering should be banned from the industry.

Is it me, or is it that there is some Collinish (Phil) tone there?

I thought this was a cover of Lady, until I listened to the rest of the lyrics and saw the name of the song. Speaking of LRB, I saw them headline a "Summer Sunday" concert at Empire Stadium in Vancouver back in the 80s. Any other Vancouverites remember those shows? Great times. Now we've got concerts at Deer Lake park, but I miss Empire Stadium.

Not so much a song as a soundscape, but not bad.
