Tell me that you want to dance
I want to feel your pulse on mine
Just treat me like a stolen glance
To yourself
A dark shape on a golden floor
A sleeping planet with a molten core
From above we'd cut a slow eight shape
And much more
I'm a peasant in your princess arms
Penniless with only charm
As we're levelled by the low, hot lights
And disarmed
I'm not afraid of anything even time
It'll eke away at everything but we'll be fine
I'm folded in the bread you made
You're cold until my body bathes
You in the heat I kept aside
All these days
I'm not afraid of anything even time
It'll eke away at everything but we'll be fine
I want to feel your pulse on mine
Just treat me like a stolen glance
To yourself
A dark shape on a golden floor
A sleeping planet with a molten core

Thought it was Beck singing...
Fantastic song. takes me away!
It's been a while since a song was composed to evoke the sense of floating.

Sad to say that there seems to be a lot more cynical people everywhere these days. Isn't that a foundational part of the war on facts and expertise? I really hate conspiracy theories, but I really like this song, 9 for me.
Lots of cynical people on here. Too bad they can't get in touch with what's important. I guess chest beating and snorting is though.

I love 3 tracks off this album. Missed this one. Sweet!

I'm definitely going off Snow Patrol, who increasingly seem to me to be of a piece with Coldplay: efficient, technically accomplished, clever lyrics, but cold, corporate and lacking heart or emotion, though of course that's just a subjective impression. They're getting filed in my mind in the folder "Suit music", together with Bryan Ferry and Spandau Ballet. the sort of music that would be played in the lobbies of big finance houses with massive glassed atria. Unfair I'm sure, but that's subjectivity for you...

I fear anything is time.
For the kings and queens.
I already told so.
and so, the ground beneath her feet became snow ...
the cold queen makes a royal entrance!

I don't have any problem getting in touch with what's important, like helping my Mum with her dementia, for example, or my little lad with his social skills issues.
I just find that, as my job is terminally dull and I listen to RP all day in work, it is pleasant to become involved in some of the discussions about music (or other topics). I have not found any station to compare to RP and it's contributors never fail to inform or amuse me during my days.

A bit weak and self indulgent with promise

Subjectively, and especially as I am not any kind of musician, I don't like the way they seem to play slight variations of the same line over and over and over.......

I hear a definitive Peter Gabriel influence here. This is very good though...like it!
I was not a fan of this band. But this album (particularly the other tracks) won me over.
Excellent.
Nice album!
this is pretty good.. i definitely prefer that really long song of theirs from the same album but this is still OK...

Their next gig: Bangor, Ward Park, 5 June 2010, how are they live?
They're good, really good! I also caught their Reworked show at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast, at beginning of December - that was great, accompanied by Elbow's string section, a number of other instruments & musicians not normally seen on a SP stage.
Needless to say, I'm all set for Ward Park on the 5th June, too close to home to ignore!

Getting on for thirty years ago (not sure whether that looks better in words or digits) it took me a while to get into U2, I was similarly slow with Snow Patrol but I'm there now. Certainly, their summer '07 homecoming gig in Ward Park sealed it & I've got tickets for one of the four Odyssey Arena shows next March. Man can't live by CD (or RP) alone.
