Staring at you
Staring at me
It's a slow dance
But I believe

Mona Lisa
Who do you see
It's your one chance
Do you believe

Let's get naked
Under the knife
We are dreamers
Larger than life
Staring at you
Staring at me
It's a slow dance
But I believe

Lock up all the doors
Better seal your heart up tight
Block out all the noise
But you can't escape the light
Staring at you
Staring at me

'Cos your love creeps slow
Like a thief in the night
You take my breath
And you hold it inside
'Cos your love creeps slow
Like a thief in the night
You take my breath
And you hold it inside

There's an ocean
Inside of your head
With all the words
You wish you had said
We are broken
We have no pain
You're the needle
I am the vein

Lock up all the doors
Better seal your heart up tight
Block out all the noise
But you can't escape the light
Staring at you
Staring at me

'Cos your love creeps slow
Like a thief in the night
You take my breath
And you hold it inside
'Cos your love creeps slow
Like a thief in the night
You take my breath
And you hold it inside

Love her hearty voice!
Ten for the bangs and lips I first encountered on Live at Daryl's House, no longer a guilty pleasure!

Not your casual lyrics! 9
Fell in love with her on "Live From Daryl's House." Talented, of course, but also that rare blend of gorgeous AND cute.

This song is AWESOME!!

But it does highlight a flaw with RP - and that, dear listener, is you lot!! You pick the best tracks off your favourite albums and send them in for B&R to choose from.

The downside is that the rest of the album doesn't always stack up to the tracks heard on here.

Small price to pay for a shed-load of terrific songs though

Thanks for all the amazing music to be found on RP
I've noticed the same phenomenon. I find a great artist here on RP, listen to more of their music off of RP, and find that the best of their songs are already being played and the other songs not picked up on RP aren't quite the same...

I like this song.  Rhythm section reminds me a bit of 'Make It Wit Chu' by Queens of the Stone Age.

this is a killer. Must be a pearl jam in the studio. Sounds raw and unedited. Or it is a pure production genius... Drummmmmmm. Drummmmmm..... Bassssssss basssssss... And her voice is like a drug

Always get a jolt when this comes on, like electricity through the veins. Really a fabulous song.

could have done with a cleaner drum beat, detracts from an otherwise great song
A few minutes ago I was wishing this song would play.  And now here it is!!!   (my android phone is 20 minutes behind live).  Thanks!!
Anyone else hearing "staring at the shoes staring at me"?

Just me?

OK. {#Foot-in-mouth}
I started by profoundly disliking the singing style on the first 8 measures. But then the song revealed very good.
Brilliant song. Luv it.
This one has legs. Great pop song!
{#Dancingbanana_2}Now THIS works!!!
Seriously digging this song: the beat, the voice, the backing sound.
reminiscent of Voices Carry  Til Tuesday

Birches
By Robert Frost

When I see birches bend to left and right
Across the lines of straighter darker trees,
I like to think some boy's been swinging them.
But swinging doesn't bend them down to stay
As ice-storms do.
Often you must have seen them
Loaded with ice a sunny winter morning
After a rain. They click upon themselves
As the breeze rises, and turn many-colored
As the stir cracks and crazes their enamel.

very cool voice, wicked lyrics too (could be followed by Bauhaus's Bela Lugosi to keep the creepy vibe, the needle in the vein)

Well, I suppose it's a slight step up from "soooooooo booooooring", or variations thereof.  All of which amount to the same thing.

Even Beethoven was influenced by Vivaldi, for crying out loud.

As for Diane, in certain poses she definitely has that "Agent 99" thing goin' on.

I suppose it depends on one's perspective, but  your opening assertion is not particularly accurate.  Bands or artists with debut albums in 1967 included Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, The Velvet Underground, The Doors, David Bowie, Traffic, The Grateful Dead, Sly & The Family Stone, Vanilla Fudge, among others who did not sound like that combination you mentioned.  The Pilgrim's Progress reference is cool; I'm surprised there has yet to be a band called "Slough Of Despond".

On first half-listen, I lean towards dismissing this as forgettable pop. "But it's on RP! So...there must (well, might) be something to it."

Need another spin. Does this really belong on our beloved RP?

5/17/14 update: no, this is pretty forgettable.
What's with the lyrics, they are copy-pasted all over the internet with glaring mistakes:

Staring at you
Staring at me
It’s a slow dance
But I believe

Mona Lisa
Who do you see
It’s your one chance
Do you believe

Let’s get naked
Under the knife
We are dreamers
Larger than life
Staring at you
Staring at me
It’s a slow dance
But I believe

Lock up all the doors
Better seal your heart up tight
Block out all the noise
But you can’t escape the light
Staring at you
Staring at me

‘Cos your love creeps slow
Like a thief in the night
You take my breath
And you hold it inside
‘Cos your love creeps slow
Like a thief in the night
You take my breath
And you hold it inside

There’s an ocean
Inside of your head
With all the words
You wish you had said
We are broken
We have no pain
You’re the needle
I am the vein

Lock up all the doors
Better seal your heart up tight
Block out all the noise
But you can’t escape the light
Staring at you
Staring at me

‘Cos your love creeps slow
Like a thief in the night
You take my breath
And you hold it inside
‘Cos your love creeps slow

I sincerely could not sgree more. There are some fascinating, illuminating and hilarious critiques that appear in the comments section and I enjoy reading them even if I hold a completely different view. But I do dislike derogatory remarks where someone has been dismissive in a lazy manner. That just smacks of being more interested in having other people cultivate an opinion about the writer of the comment than being anything to do with the music itsself.

Come on some of you, if you're going to diss a song at least put a little effort and sincerity into it.
