Now I've watched you sitting there
Seen the passers-by all stare
Like you have no place to go
But there's so much they don't know about Apple Scruffs

You've been stood around for years
Seen my smiles and touched my tears
How it's been a long, long time
And how you've been on my mind, my Apple Scruffs

Apple Scruffs, Apple Scruffs
How I love you, how I love you

In the fog and in the rain
Through the pleasures and the pain
On the step outside you stand
With your flowers in your hand, my Apple Scruffs

While the years, they come and go
Now, your love must surely show me
That beyond all time and space
We're together face to face, my Apple Scruffs

Apple Scruffs, Apple Scruffs
How I love you, how I love you

How I love you, Apple Scruffs!

I often wondered what mouth watering thing apple scruffs could be.  Now I know:

Great time for this song.  I really love it.  I sure miss Mr. Harrison...

I love the harmonica on this; warm, nicely rhythmic, and evocative of good things.  And of course, a lovely song, singer.

Thought this was a Dar Williams song, "As Cool as I Am"

Shows which genre I grew up in :-)

Not my favorite Harrison song, especially since apple scruffs, refers to the "apple groupies" that hung around apple records. {#Curtain}

From Wikipedia: The Apple scruffs were a loosely-knit group of hardcore Beatles fans who were known for congregating outside the Apple Corps building and at the gates of Abbey Road Studios in London during the waning days of Beatlemania in hopes of seeing or interacting with the band members. The Beatles themselves had an ambivalent but often friendly relationship with these fans; two Apple scruffs, Lizzie Bravo and Gayleen Pease, were actually recruited to sing on a Beatles song ("Across the Universe"). Although no version was released on a Beatles record that included their voices, they can be heard in the mix of the song that was used on the World Wildlife Fund charity album No One's Gonna Change Our World and was subsequently released on the compilation album Past Masters, Volume Two.The Beatles' song "She Came In Through the Bathroom Window" (Abbey Road, 1969) refers to the day that some of the Apple scruffs climbed into Paul McCartney's house via an upstairs bathroom window and raided his wardrobe for a pair of trousers which they took turns wearing. They also stole a framed photograph, which they later returned at McCartney's request. Following the breakup of the Beatles, George Harrison wrote a song entitled "Apple Scruffs" which appeared on his solo album All Things Must Pass.

The sweet sound of George's voice always makes me smile.  In my opinion, he was always The Cute One!
