I believe the stars keep shining all throught the night.
I believe if we just keep trying it will be alright.
I believe that someday we're gonna find our way.
And I believe in a beautiful day.

I believe in lovers walking side by side.
I believe that someday we'll be satisfied.
I believe the angels listen god hears us pray.
And I believe in a beautiful day.
Yeah I believe it's gonna work out ok.

But not for me, and not for you.

I believe, I believe, I believe.
I believe, I believe, I believe.

I believe there's an answer waiting when the day is done.
I believe if you just keep searching you'll find someone.
I believe that you and I just lost our way.
And I believe in a beautiful day.
I still believe in a beautiful day.

But not for me, and not for you.
I know your tried, and I tried to.
Sometime all our dreams just don't come true.

I believe, I believe, I believe.
I believe, I believe, I believe.
Oh...Oh...Beautiful day

My favorite rockabilly-ish artist by far.
I believe I love this song !
This morning's playlist has been amazing, but really, is anyone surprised? Thanks RP. {#Daisy}

Damn...I was just thinking he was channeling Roy, but you beat me to it.
Chris Isaak at his prime.  Great stuff.

Brings back San Francisco nites, mornings, hills, fog, beaches, cold water, lots of trails along the beach.

And Special People who came and went like Summertime Fog...

San Fran is special at every age... magic place where dreams and nightmares come true in equal measure.

perfect heart timing

He is famous for showing up on beaches with a guitar...

Isaak's "Forever Blue" is one of the best break albums ever.

Andy, I feel your pain, but I hear Oregon is great. I'll have an extra double mocha at Java Beach for ya.

Such a great song.  Brilliant lyrics, fabulous sound.  Only reason I don't give it a 10 is because I'm stingy with 10s... : )

Only 1 point to clarify here - Homer Simpson is not a great man.  OK 2 - don't be so stingy.  If you run out of 10's I'll give you some more.

A bit of a disconnect for me too - a little bit like throwing an entire music library on "shuffle all." Threw off my groove

Though that wasn't my interrupted activity.

Fun song.

If you have the opportunity to see Chris Isaak live don't miss it.  I've seen him twice and both shows were great.  He puts on a tremendous show - he really is gifted an entertainer.
I like this song, but it's depressing as shit.
Love this guy and particularly this song.  When i saw him in Townsville in the north of Australia he came on and asked what we want to hear before going on to say that in the big places, the really big places, New York, Paris, London....Townsville, they like to hear the classics so that's what you're going to get.  He went on to play all his hits and most of his latest album.  Brilliant showman, awesome gig.
Just perfect to launch my weekend and search for a new love......thanks Chris....I believe!
AAAAROOOOOO AAAAAROOOO!! Is that dogs I hear a howling?
Great album start to finish. The actual letter he wrote to a former girlfriend that's behind the cd tray (you have to pop-it out to see it clearly) is a nice touch.

Of course I can spell it, especially since it is written in your comments in upper case letters.  I just can't identify which definition you were invoking:
1 a (1): easily accomplished or attained
(2): shallow , simplistic
b: used or comprehended with ease
c: readily manifested and often lacking sincerity or depth
2archaic : mild or pleasing in manner or disposition

Why guilty? Forget the pretty boy looks, this album is actually darn good, and let's face it, this guy has one hell of a voice.

I'm having a hard time finding my dictionary, what with the drooling and all. However, I can spell j-e-a-l-o-u-s.

Great artist - saw hinm for the first time this year - even better live. Great sense of humour!! A real ladies man.
What relation is this guy to Pete Seeger (sp?) ?
Chris is a California treasure!!!!
Yum.
I am forever doomed to continually here his song I want to fall in love again whenever I hear his voice... :-(
How exactly can this guy ALWAYS sound exactly the same?

I have never seen/read/heard such a positive response to Chris Isaak. It is quite refreshing. The wife and I have been fans forever, and haven't met anyone else who like the chap. I guess, I haven't met anyone here either, but it is nice to know that there is such an appreciation of Chris and his big guitar.
Been a big fan for well over a decade, Leon. You are not alone.
The beginning reminded me of The Beat(en) Generation by The The. Wonder if that song is the RP library? Edit: It sure is, but it's never been played! How 'bout it Bill?

Lloyde Cole's 'Love Ruins Everything' would be a good follow-up tune to this one. But Bill has never played the LC tune though it sits in the RP library.
To be honest... listening to Chris, I get all kinds of turned on... ... just something about him. sexxxxy -Forever Billowy
I totally agree... Yum...

LOL, that is why I stopped by to make a comment. That was a damn good impression of Orbison, even if unintentional.

I really thought I was hearing Roy Orbison...
This song has Dark and funny lyrics, the man is very funny live. he had a monologue a few years back before a song about "looking down at your girl, as she sleeps so peacefully on her pillow, and you look at her beautiful face, and all you wanna do... All you wanna do... all you wanna do is COVER THE BED IN GASOLINE AND SET IT ON FIRE!" (and then the band broke into a song... I saw very very very shocked 8O faces in the crowd as I danced along and laughed and laughed) love that Chris!
whenever I hear the opening notes of this song, I think it's a speeded-up version of Hunters and Collectors' "Throw Your Arms Around Me" - sounds exactly like it before the words start

Clicked in to rate this, and found to my surprise that I'd given it a 3 some time back....not sure what I was thinking as I'm definitely bopping to it now.
Hmmm, California... Carla... Catie... Coldplay... Chris... Music by alliteration. Different.
Cute AND talented... sigh. Back to work now.

Forever Blue is one of the great "break up" albums. When CI is sad, he is very good.
All good things must come to an end.
I still believe in a beautiful day...

One of his live shows I saw in the early 90s with lunar23 was pretty cool, lotsa jokes and talk, incl. being in the crowd with signing sessions during a break in a mid-size theater...
RRRRRROckin' good tune! (despite that skip ) A 9

I'd like any of those kick-ass suits of his. This is one of my top five albums of the 90's. More than his fair share of intensity and talent on that Forever Blue.

Isaak is one of my favorite musicians, but to me this is one of his more treacly and unappealing songs. He can (and has) done much better.

One of his better songs of this album... Cool jangly guitar "...but not for you, and not for me..."
