Watch out, you might get what you're after
Cool baby, you're strange but not a stranger
I'm an oridinary girl and I'm burnin' down the house

Hold tight, wait till this party's over
Hold tight, well we're gonna be in for some nasty weather
There has got to be a way and we're burnin' down the house

Here's your ticket, pack your bags, it's time for goin' overboard
Transportation is here
Close enough but we're not too far, bet you're wonderin' where you are
Fight fire with fire

All wet, and you might need a raincoat
Shake down, my dreams are walkin' in broad daylight
365 degrees and we're burnin' down the house

My house, out of the ordinary
That's right, I don't wanna really hurt nobody
Some things sure sweep me off my feet
And we're burnin down the house

Watch out, you might get what you're after
Cool baby, you're strange but not a stranger
I'm an oridinary girl and I'm burnin' down the house

I'm certain you know more than a few Trump supporters. You'll find out after 8 November.

Saw Bonnie Raitt in Spokane recently. The venue wasn't so great, but she was, especially solo acoustic blues-fantastic.
I like Bonnie, I really do.  But I don't think this is a good cover for her.
Wow. This was really unnecessary.

Uggh. Bonnie never really floated my boat. Talking Heads all too seldom. The two as a hybrid ... {#Doh}
Bonnie Loves Boise!!!
No.

Man, that Michael Jordan is so phony.  (Obscure Seinfeld reference.)

Would be fun to see in concert, but nothing really holds up to the original.
I think this is a great cover and I m sure a great supprise at her concert. 7.6

Exactly. I don't know anyone who doesn't like David B. Strange :)

Thoroughly offended.  Just kidding!  All respect to Bonnie, and I like her work, just dislike this cover and that album title. :-)

I understand its a cover of a song from a band where half the world hates the front-man, but what's not to like here?  Bonnie cooks it pretty good in my opinion.

100% agree

How many crappy covers of this (crappy) song are there?! Sucko barfo!!

Love Bonnie, love Talking Heads, but I'd rather here Xs' "Burning House of Love"
I'm glad I heard it.  This one time.

Funny.  A couple hours ago, you played Shawn Colvin's cover of "This Must be the Place."  On a Talking Heads live tribute kick, eh?

Same track list today.

Love TH! Thought Bonnie sounded cool. Didn't care for Colvin so much.
How do I rate below 1?

Absolutely HORRIBLE

Blech. Not good at all.

This is not making sense. Both the Talking Heads and Bonnie Raitt are strong entities, but shouldn't mix like oil and water.

{#Yes}{#Yes}
Holy crap this version is amazing!!! LOVE!!

Super Woman  (mmmm I love Bonnie : )

Lovin' me some Bonnie

Yes. I wouldn't have guessed Bonnie could done the song justice but this version is quite good. Still would put the live version from "Stop Making Sense" on top, though.
{#Frustrated}
I like the drums.
I don't want to hear the rest.
Somehow, this is a low for RP.  Nails on the blackboard. Screeching tires. Near beer. Back up musicians pretending to be rocking out.
How about a 4?
Going negative on this rare occasion.
Doesn't hold a candle to the original from Stop making Sense!

love to hear some selections from that album?

Bonnie is better at the Blues!

Dunno what's more offensive... this cover, or the album name? 'Road Tested' indeed... hurl.

But I don't like to go through that door no more.  I didn't think "Talking Heads" right away when I heard it and I didn't recognize it as Bonnie Raitt even though I've enjoyed her sounds for a long time. I like it, gonna give it an 8 without a drink. Then I'm going to do a look-up and see who's backing her on this.

good reply, well said.
Nice to hear a great live cover after that horrible Tom Petty one!  Burn down that house Bonnie!
I thought my ears were playing tricks on me, an auditory hallucination of sorts.
Um, Bonnie, can we talk?

Talking Heads meets slide guitar.

Dig it.
I don't think Bonnie has any worries of burning down anything with this ...
Ho hum indeed. And it gets that because of the guitar work. I'm a big fan of both Bonnie and D.Byrne, but this, this is just so wrong.
I really didn't think anyone else could do this song justice but Bonnie nailed it!

I love Bonnie Raitt.

I love this song.

But ... no .....

It works for me…the intersection of two musical worlds.
Nope.

All the respect in the world for BR, but she and this song are just not right for each other.

Just my 2c...

I am pretty sure that I will never hear this song and I am thinking I am the better for it.  Trying to envision how this would work and I really can't.{#Snooty}

Good job, Bonnie!

Yuck....this awesome, classic Talking Heads song does not deserve this {#Fire}

Better Bonnie Raitt than David "Teletubby" Byrne, IMO. TH is an autorate 1 and PSD, this is bearable. 5 from the Byrneophobic Nottingham jury.
This is a nifty cover 😊

Rosanne Cash, "Burn Down This Town"
Bonnie Raitt, "Burning Down the House" (composed by David Byrne!)

Bill is on something of a hot streak today--either than that, or he's playing with fire.

At least I know there is a good song to look forward to after this one!

I've heard better 2 am Friday night karaoke versions.
Ahem.......Why?

maybe it'll grow on me
Why did my ratings bar say 9.3 for this?   It should be sub-7 at best.  Ok it went to 5.something--whew.
Strikes me as kinda weird. Not like the original weird, just ...okay I'm moving it from a 6 to a 7. But it's still weird.
Another crappy cover. This time by the incredible Bonnie Raitt
This is the 2nd HORRIBLE cover I have heard today.  Is this a trend for today in the programming?  First Pink Floyd and now this??

Please reconsider ever playing either of them again anytime soon!  LOL

Bonnie is underrated as a solid guitarist. This is not bad.
Thanks, now fully awake!

Wild.   Bonnie doing Byrne.
