Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am home again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am whole again

Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am young again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am fun again

However far away
I will always love you
However long I stay
I will always love you
Whatever words I say
I will always love you
I will always love you

Fly me to the moon

Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am free again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am clean again

However far away
I will always love you
However long I stay
I will always love you
Whatever words I say
I will always love you
I will always love you

I have a great story of seeing them live in the 80's at a basketball arena and when we all stood up on the floor because they were about to start I realized everyone was only about as tall as my shoulder because they were all teens. I felt old then, being all of about 25, but the show was awesome!
The fact that they were sharing cigarettes instead of joints should have been a clue.  (closest emoji I can find to a smoking one)
I think every Cure song will eventually become a 9 for me. It seems every time they come on, I inadvertently turn the volume up. This one is no exception.

If it wasn't for RP, I would not have known about The Cure. Thank you William.

Also the Rolling Stones "Let it Bleed" album:  This record should be played LOUD!

omg. This album is absolutely outstanding. Great album, great tune. Love every note of it. Genius
One of the very rare songs that never, ever, ever go stale, no matter how many times I hear it. I will love this song forever, I guess.

This album came out when I was 15 and I got it on tape for my 16th birthday and spent 2 weeks trekking the Dolomites listening to it near continuously. It brings back so many memories.

The sleeve notes report "This album was engineered to be played loud, turn it up!". What fantastic advice.

Possibly  one of the best love songs ever
When a song reminds one of how love between two people was expressed and felt, well you give it a 9, besides it paraphrased Sinatra's "Fly me to the moon".
Great love song.  The words are perfect.
An album like this comes once in a decade...
Classic (ha!) beauty. His voice is melty and their soundscape always transports me...  <3
Haunting  sound  from The Cure , love it....
The song title is very honest
Love these lyrics, simple but meaningful...

I wore that cassette out! Didn't get all of those songs on CD until the "Join The Dots" box set came out in the 2000s.
Just watched the Cure's induction (& performance) into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on YouTube.  40 + years later, they still sound great. And Robert's Smith's voice sounds  unchanged. (how that's possible, I have no idea)

I love the Love Song by The Cure, it just has one of the those melodies that stick in your head!

After years of listening, I say that Pink Floyd is his favorite band....

I love this Cure song.

Love, a very powerfull verb.
....and so many Cure tunes to choose from, Bill.  Not a bad one to have your favorite.
This is actually curing me on a day I need it so badly... thanks Bill.  Happy Hump Day!
Very,very nice!
Love the lyrics in this song.  Everyone should have a partner who makes them feel this way.  "You make me feel like I'm home again".  Just moved from 9 to 10.
Good choice, Bill.

Eleven, no hesitation. A 12 for the video of it.

I was 18 when this album came out and The Cure kind of passed me by at the time. Thanks RP for allowing me to discover them this time round.....so many great tracks!
Great band, great song.
Love the song and Adele's cover is right up there with the best of them.
Bill's daily Cure fix! What a gem!
Keep them coming.

I dedicate the song to the mother of the awesome Poacher-Mom, cause....without her, no happyness
for Mr. Poacher today!

Your comment, to me, is equivalent to those guys who go on their knees in public (with a preference to TV-shows) to ask their future wifes to marry them! I dunno....
I really do not like the Cure, but this is a great song - no question!
Great music!

Such a time and place tune.

Back when a big 12 inch meant a 45 from Tower Records!

I have said it here at RP a few times....UK is the ultimate culture for music over the past 50 years....so many amazing artists.... UK should be very proud of this fact
Never tire of this ............
Usually The Cure is not my cup of tea, but I must confess: this one is a timeless masterpiece
Love this song - inspired me to register and tell you so

Growing for sure, since 1989, and new generations of singers agree, like Adele, 23 y, born 5 May 1988, English singerplays the song Love Song (by The Cure), theme included  in their recent Albúm, a very personal and interesting version, I must say.......beautiful!.

For as much as I like The Cure this song has never been a favourite of mine.  Perhaps it's just because it was overplayed on radio when it came out....
"Whenever I'm alone with you
I feel particularly flatulent."

...ah, true love...
still a great song!
Adele covered this on her new album. She sounds even better live.
Nice!
I will always love you...
when I first heard this song it reminded me of one person
and I still love the song
but not the person
Enjoyed it this morning. {#Music}

The Cure following Bowie.... just like they always have.

Coolest thing about Bowie's 50th birthday bash was he invited his followers + Lou Reed.

Mr. Smith, Frank Black, Billy Corgan, etc.

Great show if you can get it.

Maybe it seems weaker because it's more widely heard, but I think it's wonderful.  Simple, yet meaningful lyrics.  (Well to me, anyhow)

Isn't this everybody's favourite The Cure album?

It seems to be for most people here, and for many rock critics. But my favorite is the more poppy upbeat Wish. The cool thing about the Cure is their music has had enough different phases, lineups and sound configurations that many people can have different favorite Cure albums, a mark of a more interesting band exploring its own creativity, changing and growing.

I will always associate this with the breakup from my first real love back in 1990. {#Cry}

Wonderful song though.

Indeed their best album with various jewels,
but still...
dislike the CURE,

Such as bargain! A cure song every hour and thirty-three minutes or every 22nd song! (maybe someone should upload some of the Peel Sessions so Bill can span the years a little more)

Yeah, I'd agree. There are quite a few standouts on this album.
Bill playing Nitin Sawhney two nights in a row put me in such a good mood, I promoted Love Song from nine to ten.
I'm a cheap bastard, so when I came across this CD at a yard sale for $3, I was "Cure"-ious.....(up yours, spell check!). One of my better finds on a Saturday morning.
