There's a light when the window shades are drawn
Hesitate when I feel I may do harm to her
Wash it off, 'cause this feeling we can share
And I know she's reached my heart in thin air
Byzantine is reflected in our pond
There's a cloud, but the water remains calm
Reaching in, the sun's fingers clutch the dawn to pass
Even out, it's a precious thing to bear
And I know she's reached my heart in thin air
Yes, I know she's reached my heart in thin air
It's not in my past to presume
Love can keep on moving in both directions
How to be happy and true
Is the quest we're taking on together
Taking on, on, on, on, on
Taking on, on, on, on, on
There's a light when my baby's in my arms
And I know she's reached my heart in thin air
And I know she's reached my heart in thin air
And I know she's reached my heart in thin air
Yes, I know she's reached my heart
I am a lover.
Done!
(1) BillG NEVER succumbs to the haters. Think of it this way: we're hanging out in his living room listening to his stereo. You're free to stay, or free to go, or free to stay and complain. Makes no difference to our host.
And don't forget, B&R allow you to skip forward if what's playing ain't floating your boat. FANtastic!!
Thanks for the wakeup song.
Thanks RP for not succumbing to the haters. About 15 years ago, it became the cool kid thing to do to claim you hate Pearl Jam.

(2) You mean I was one of the cool kids 15 years ago? Even at my rather — shall we say — advanced age? Thanks for the compliment, Sideorder!
Thanks RP for not succumbing to the haters. About 15 years ago, it became the cool kid thing to do to claim you hate Pearl Jam. It's easy to see why - every singer on the radio was giving a cut rate EV impression and it had just become too much. At this point though, given the consistent quality of their output, their unbridled loyalty to their fans, and their status as elder statesmen of real, honest, guitar driven rock in a world too reliant on "quirkiness", walking around with the "these guys suck" attitude just makes you look ignorant. Let's face it, they never were "indie", but the music has always been great. As far as this song, one of the best on an underrated album.
Indeed. Binaural, one of my favourite PJ albums!
From the Lowlands..Holland thanx Bill

consideraton dat word be considerashaun, yo!
heh!
Why of course, given your moniker. But a classic in my book too.
I may be reaching here, but based on the # of hits PJ has had, great touring success and years of service, I'd bet your wrong. A majority of RP listerns enjoy a PJ song . Go ahead and keep playing it Bill.
As for Eddie's voice, get over it. If his voice is bothering , pretend your listening to Boy George or Moby next time. You'll probably enjoy it more.
Signed!
A beautiful song ,may I add
Having said that, I love Pearl Jam. This is not one of their better songs, but I'd take it over most of what's being fed to us over the airwaves and touted as "music."

So well put. Kisses my fingertips!!!

Beautiful song from a vastly underrated album.
Eddie, your crunchy Jif is right over there...
Eddie absent?? That leaves Mankind, Sweet Lew, Gremmie out of Control, Don't Give Me No Lip, Brother (Lost Dog's version) and I think The Whale Song.
Someone in the 10C check me on that.
Look - the band has a very powerful core following - I am one of them.
Noone in rock still sells out arenas while not selling multimillions of records as PJ does.
How you feel about Ed's voice is your opinion.
IMHO - folks on these boards get way to caught up in vocal styles - this is rock and roll folks - not pop or opera.
But your opinion is your opinion.
Just no that their are legion who will disagree.
But the vomit thing......don't you think you could do without.
Love can keep on moving in both directions.

Take it on, on, on, on, on.
Take it on, on, on, on, on.
Take joy in this: We don't care!
And neither does RP.
Yes, unlike you however, I do not take it upon myself to speak for others and certainly not for Bill and Rebecca as you do. I was commenting on my disdain for Vedder which, contrary to your all inclusive statement, is shared by many others here.

oh, lookie, it's our daily dose of Pearl Jam.
Don't want to get all "Mr. Smith goes to Washington" on you, but with a 6.5 rating, it's sounds like you're rushing the bill through. I plan a fillibuster. You can't ignore the will of the people...
It is un-American to question the government. According to those in power, that is.
Me too! Pretty please with sugar on top....less Pearl Jam!
I really don't like Pearl Jam.
But I f*ing hate that guys voice.
Well, thank god for the mute button!
Love an album cover with a photo from Hubble Space Telescope.
Yes!! ...and it also looks like the polar response pattern of a binaural stereo microphone!
