I bought the album back then on the strength of this song and Coffee & TV. Turned out they were both outliers and the rest of the tracks sounded nothing like them. Still love this song.

I had a big crush on Damon and to be honest, it has never gone away..!
Boring, uninspiring vocals and the song drones on for far too long, but some decent guitar work

Come on, repetition is inherently part of music, but this is simply annoying. Come on this is repetitious, repetitious, repetitious, repetitious, etc.
Putting this album on for the first time was when I realised how ridiculous all those comparisons with Oasis were and how Albarn was in a whole other ballpark.

I was in the Glastonbury crowd for their 2009 comeback headline. The huge crowd wouldn't stop singing this chorus long after the band had stopped. Damon Allbran was in tears. I'm not a great Blur fan but that football crowd was very moving.

This is my first hearing, exactly when I wished that RP would play something I don't already know well. But, this is not striking me as the piece that does it. How this gets into any rotation eludes me. But that's how it works.

The image which comes to mind, listening to this song is a rowboat floating down the stream on a big river in some tropical land. The rowers are rowing on the tempo, set by the beat, played on a tom tom.
