Moonshine, waiting for a love that never comes
Moonshine, wish it were a time that never was

Waiting for a time, the truth to call
Waiting for a sign, show me all
Waiting for my love

Moonshine, drinking to a love that's gone on by
Moonshine, looking to the stars as cars go by

Waiting for a time, truth to call
Waiting for a sign, show me all
Waiting for a love

Waiting for a time, truth to call
Waiting for a sign, show me all
Waiting for a love

Waiting for a love
Waiting for my love
Waiting for my love

Moonshine, waiting for a love that never comes
comes

William, the segue from Supertramp's School to this song was one of your best!

Bad, out of tune, useless cover. Crediting the actual writers doesn't make it better.  This might be my first negative comment ever, but this is a travesty.

Nothing to commend this, dreadful voice. Hard to understand how this makes it to anybody's playlist.
Drab singing🙃
wow. i haven't heard this in over a decade.i forgot all about Doves. thanks, RP!

My ears yanked my head around when this came on -- thinking just as you did.   Melody, meter, lyrics ... kinda.  However, the King Crimson song is Moonchild  (the Dream and the Illusion) and the lyrics are different.

I have no idea about the legal line between 'homage' and 'thievery,' but I am confident that King Crimson's attorneys do.  (barristers?)

Listening to this having just now heard of the death of Ian McDonald, one of the co-founders of King Crimson. A suitable synchronicity.
Never really cared for King Crimson, despite owning/listening to Court of The Crimson King on LP a number of times.

This? I like it.

Unbelievable. This is Moonshine by KIng Crimson. Its illegal right? Bill - why are you playing this? BTW, its a crappy cover also.

that would be "Moon Child" and yes, it appears to be an homage.
Holy crap Batman... Cloud Dragons!
For non-Brits, the M62 is a major cross-country motorway going into Manchester.

I can't hear it as anything other than "moonshine."

Which would explain the quality of the vocals.

I was halfway snoozing when this one came on (apologies to my boss) and I kept thinking I was hearing a voice singing "Blue Skies", the old Ella Fitzgerald classic.

Weird - I don't think I've heard this before, but earlier today it showed up on my Pandora channel from Back To Mine - New Order. And now here!
Hope Fripp, Giles, McDonald, Lake, & Sinfield (or their estates) are charging punitive royalties for this.
Wow. This is a King Crimson song from Court of the Crimson King.
Why not just play the original by King Crimson. It's colossally better.

If there is an original of this song by King Crimson I am unaware of it. The original track is called Moon Child not Moon Shine. But they do seem to making tribute in some weird way.

Members of King Crimson are credited as co-writers for this song on this album.  It appears these guys felt like writing different lyrics and credited Fripp, Giles, Lake, McDonald,  and Sinfield as composers of the music.

I agree with others and believe that KC set a better mood in the original.  Look forward to hearing this a few more times.

Speaking of Crimson covers (I like this one) - check out the Unthanks version of Starless.

Would go perfectly on RP.
I won't be going to see them at the end of their hiatus. Even the M62 would be preferable.
PSD.  Too whiney.
The whiney is strong in this one.

Good stuff.
Guitar is nice, but it seems like the guy is intentionally singing poorly. Or maybe that\'s the best he can do, and the band is contractually obliged to let him sing one of the songs.
Waiting for the eeeeennnnnddddd.......

Sorry to be disagreeable, but I disagree. To the bands credit they have tried to do the song differently, which they have. Unfortunately it's not a patch on the original.
Easilly my favorite track off of The Last Broadcast. I didn't know it was a cover, but regardless, it's the only track that I normally play (at least) twice. Sorry Kevin ;)
This song is gore :(
Easilly my least favorite track off of The Last Broadcast. I didn\'t know it was a cover, but regardless, it\'s the only track that I normally pass over. Kevin
this has to be a DJ favorite - it gets played everytime I listen, i think
The distorted vocals pay a decent tribute to the King Crimson original, but I think Crimson sets the mood better. This is just a little too fast. Would love to hear more Crimson (either early or late) - their stuff was WAY ahead of their time. I like the Doves, but they seem to be on heavy rotation here.

lots of doves today, huh? They\'re starting to rub off on me... ;)
Stop singing, she/he might come to you (I like other stuff from the doves, but this just sounds sloppy to me)
Great song, great album...keep playin them, they deserve recognition.
