I love these guys because 1). they're goofy as hell and 2). they're from the town next to my home town, but if you're not in the mood for their..."singing"...the gag gets old pretty quick. A little more musicality and sophistercation, fellers.

While I'm in the minority with this opinion among TMBG fans , I thought Mink Car was their best album since Apollo 18. Especially after the dreary, overproduced John Henry and just fair Factory Showroom. Each track on MC effectively bends genres. Ah, yes, They Might Be Giants . . . what other band can generate comments like "witty truth" and "disarmingly funny." And, even when the listener finds the song somewhat "annoying" still has to "like" TMBG. As David Letterman once said, "When will we know?"

A cute little number that cut's through our usual mode of denial regarding the transience of life. Disarmingly funny, but think about it. Not much musically, but deserving of exceedingly occasional play, a little "fickle-finger-of fate wild card in the mix.

I used to be a big John & John fan, but TMBG started heading down the toilet with John Henry, and haven't managed to crawl back out yet. This is just more of the same. Makes their earlier stuff look even better.
