This track conveys a sensation of hurtling through some surreal space at unimaginable speed...

Great song, turned to 11, and runs into RH's Jigsaw Falling Into Place quite well...Thanks RP Rock Mix!

Careful with that jigsaw, Eugene!

Can anyone tell me which of the fellas pictured on the album is “Pink”?

TIA!!

I like the part where the Klingon sings. Same guy from Tubular Bells.

Viv Stansfield (The Bonzo Dog Band) did the voiceover on Tubular Bells.
This Kinglon is the drummer, Nick Mason
Uncredited: The cookie monster.

It got tons of airplay here in Cleveburg for years.  Meddle and Animals are probably my two favorite Floyd albums.  Still play them somewhat often.

I left in 2004, but the NOLA area rock stations played it rather regularly too.

This is one of their best songs.   It's strange how it never got much radio airplay.  Thanks for playing it.  One of those 'crank it up' songs.   Or 'driving around when you're pissed off' songs.

Only one negative comment on RP in 18 Years!!!!... Speaks for itself...
Nick dropping his stick without missing a beat during this one at Pompei
One of my favorite Floyd tunes
I could swear this used to be used in the 1980s for Monster Truck Rally and local sport event TV commercials.  I don't think I heard it used that way after around 1990... I suspect TV stations got into trouble for using Pink Floyd and not paying royalties on local spots.

So glad I got to see Nick perform this at The Met in Philadelphia last winter. I may not get to see Pink Floyd but that show was pretty close. Brought back so many powerful emotions. Easy 10.

To my regret I missed Nick when he came around. I knew it was a once in a lifetime experience, but wasn't able to work it out. I'm glad you got the chance and it was as good as expected!
GODLIKE!!! ICONIC!!!

I wish I could upvote this twice, once for each time it made me laugh.
That opening bass line is impossible to miss.
Best grunt song I know
EXCEPTIONNEL !!!! Le final est un vrai délire musical.....
I had a college radio show back in the mid 1980s (CJSR Radio, U of A, Edmonton) and I used to play this at 45 rpm instead of 33... try it sometime!!
Excellent...another transported back to a late night decades ago, listening to this lying on the bedroom floor, and melting with the music.
Reminds me of trippin out at my buddies place as a teenager.
Sofakinggood... all these years later and it still rocks
I am not suprised to see the excellent Average Rating of this song.
I searched for years to find this. Was a software consultant In the early 1970s. We had the tape and played it to psych-up on the way to a new client!
Just ... nothing left to do but grin from ear to ear!
I remember being a wee lad, playing my older sister's record of this to my friends and saying wait for the ending, so scary!
**** yeah!

The only downside to hearing this song on RP is I am gonna have to fight the urge to turn off RP when it ends in order to hear the rest of the album.
Классная музыка!
As if it weren't awesome enough, it even has part of the Doctor Who theme tune in it

Best song ever!

Used to listen to this when you could hookup lights to your speaker system and create a light show with lamps.
When "Godlike" simply isn't enough...
Listening to this in ALAC format with AirPods. There’s so much going on in here I never heard before. Amazing!

Total 10 for me.
This starts my foot tapping... but by the end, my axe is in full swing!

Totally agree. One of their best tracks ever. Same opinion when I was 17 and now at 65.
great track from a great album

I find it amazing that there are only 8 responses but a great rating.
This makes 9 I don't know what to say but....Thank you!
"Weird banging noises." I think my daughter's description is apt. I've always loved this one.
My older sister had this record when I was a kid. This song used to scare me. Pretty cool.
So glad I went and rated that song, now it at least plays in the 'What I like' option!!!
This song needs to make it's debut on RP soon! Perhaps Bill should put it on a list of "Vote with your dollars" contributions. The unplayed song that makes the most money for RP gets radio play on a regular basis. Hmmmm?
Last night's Soprano's episode (Season 6, Episode 69) ended with this song. It was very cool. Seems that One of these days could appropriately end a lot of Soprano episodes.
I love this song!

Sometimes only this song, played at the highest volume possible through headphones, is the only think that will do. Were I not able to do that, not sure what the result would be but I am sure it wouldn't be pretty.
very well put. For me, that one essential full-volume song is "the great gig in the sky"
