Closer, move in closer
Closer now than
Than ever before
I doubt it that you can survive
So far from your trenches and your friends
This is where competition starts and
And all that ends

I sense a lot of tension
Loose, loose
Pull out your arsenal
Dance

Step into this room and dance for me
Step into this room and dance for me
Come on, lady, dance for me
Come on, come on, dance for me
Step into this room and dance for me

By now we should know the music and the steps
Oh, me, I never asked, I never set you up
A little something for me?
A little something thrown back at me?

This is the floor, these are the rules
These are the moves
This is the room in which we dance
Close the door, say you will dance

Step into this room and dance for me
Step into this room and dance for me
Come on, lady, dance for me
Come on, come on, dance for me
Step into this room and dance for me
Step into this room and dance for me
Come on, come on, dance for me
Come on, come on, dance for me

Step into this room and dance for me
Step into this room and dance for me
Come on, lady, dance for me
Come on, come on, dance
Step into this room and dance for me
Come on, come on, dance
Step into this room and dance for me

Same here.  I  Agree!

I actually though this was Leonard Cohen till I looked at the playlist.
Lyrics are interesting.  Execution is not

You must have never heard "Playground In My Mind" by Clint Holmes.  Talk about creepy.
Nice sequey from Dance me to the moon Bill, would be better if I liked the song!
Quite likeable! Dark in a good way.
Fabulous album start to finish.
You have to hear this one in context of the whole album, otherwise it sounds like a creepshow.  Excellent album, highly encourage you to partake.
Ok, but a little dark and creepy.
Anything by the boys from Norway is awesome by me.

i could see leonard cohen doing this one

The more this guy asks me to dance, the less likely I am to do it.
Next dark speaker, not singer! Madrugada made some good music, but to dark for my taste, and so.. they do not come out of the shade!

Oh no... This song again.  I had forgotten it.  Much in the same way a trauma victim has amnesia.

"Blue Velvet" was incredibly brutal and dispiriting the first time I watched it. The second time, I could see the brilliance of it...but I still wanted to torture Frank to death.

It isn't Amy's in the Attic by ICP, but it's right up there.

Are you sure? I think its Sivert Hoyem , the singer of Madrugada.

The song's fairly interesting, though the singer's whole "I'm just like Leonard Cohen but not as good" shtick isn't the best.

To which stream(s) do you listen, when you tune into RadioIO.com?

Jam is the best one.  I get more download ideas from it than anywhere except RP.

Well, except that you just did, as did the appropriately named Out To Lunch.

I will admit that I'm outvoted, at least here on RP, because I don't like Radiohead. It doesn't change the fact the every time I hear Thom Yorke's caterwauling I flip to RadioIO Jam for an hour or so for some actual rock music.

And I'm actually starting to wonder, as I hear the first 10 or seconds or so of each of their atonal dirges, if it isn't just "cool" to like Radiohead. To my ear, it can't really be about the music.

Just FYI, more than 300 out of 1300 people on Radio Paradise rated Karma Police a 10, and more than half of all raters rated that song at least a 9.  Since I don't believe in slagging people because of their ratings of songs, I won't compare the ratings for Tusk with those for Karma Police.

Wow- this is a upbeat little diddy...reminds me of REM "shiny happy people"
Is that Linda Ronstadt on the cover of the album?
does his voice really have this quality, is the sound mostly due to production equipment?

I couldn't help notice your user name and it reminded me of Blue Blot...doesn't the vocal sound like the band Blue Blot Does anyone remember Blue Dot?

"It rubs the lotion on it's skin."
Its as if Leonard Cohen and Peter Murphy had a brain-dead baby. So not doing it for me.
I definitely agree -- it's Leonard Cohen, except crappy.
Date-rape goth-rock?
a very pale and watery reflection of Leonard Cohen...without the great lyrics
Oh my god. I think this is the theme song for that creepy stalker guy from college who always drove by my house r-e-a-l-l-y slow. EEEK!

I know! All I can think of is Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs. ("It steps into the room and dances for me...and then puts the lotion on!")
Swans lite. What an odd thing that there should be a Swans lite.
gives a new meaning to the word \"boring.\" :
Anywhere you can buy their albums without paying the crazy Import price? Industrial Silence is $30 on Amazon - little nuts.

Well, having sampled this oddity and some other music from one of my mother countries, it saddens me to report that indeed, a-ha remains the best representative of pop music from Norway.
Thanks for the snooze, RP, I love it when a song can help me nap! :(
