Show me the diamonds
Show me the gold
Call me the answer
Oh yeah
Call me anywhere
I don't have a care
This is my world

You're so pretty, we're so pretty

Show me the silver
Show me the gold
You taking my name "Angel"
Don't dissapoint me
I see you smiling
Tie up my elbows
No joke
Talking to the Devil
Talking to the Lord
For one sweet touch
Talking me to Heaven
Talking me to Hell
For your sweet touch

You're so pretty, we're so pretty
You're so pretty, oh so pretty

All the hours
Asking questions
Couldn't fit in
Wasting time
Keep coming back for a little more
I see you smiling
Feed me to the lions, I'll throw you to the floor
For one sweet touch
Diamonds in the rain
Will always be the same when there's a rainbow

You're so pretty, we're so pretty.

Good, but not one of their best tunes. My favorite tune by them is:  "Blackened Blue Eyes"!
Not as good as other Charlatans UK songs by far.
There are way better Charlatans tracks.
Robot band.

Get down with yo bad self...
Like Cake + late-period Stones.
Always loved the charlatans uk since their beginnings in the early 90s. Nice group. I should pick this up. Does have that Stone sound. I can see Mick strutting like a little chicken round and round.
diving for the mute......

Sounds like they looped a sample from "Miss You".
I dig this song but that funny voice in the background reminds me of an Old Dirty Ba$tard song. Hey, Dirty, baby I got your money Don't cha worry, I said hey, baby I got your money...

Not a bad song, but a bit of a let down after Penn's "Try"

Got this album - it's so pretty!!! (erm.) No seriously.... it is really good, start to finish. This catchy tune is one of the best on it.
Why?
This reminds me of slowed-down Ima Robot somehow.
if you really want me, and you think i'm sexy, come on baby, let me know...

Is this the same 80's band that used to be called "Charlatans UK"?
Yes. And they still are called that, depending on what country the album is issued in. See below. drH wrote:
Isn't the name "Charlatans" taken already by some Grateful Dead precursor?
Hence this band's US releases are under the name "Charlatans UK" to avoid copyright issues. Curiously the album "Up to our Hips" was released in the US under the name "The Charlatans" with no "UK." I have yet to hear a satisfactory explanation for this exception. Anyone?
(vacant?)

On AMG, Charlatans UK is credited with this album "Wonderland." The release date was 9/11/01
This is definately not the Charlatans from SF. Their music is however worth looking up if you like that genre. Would like to hear more of whatever this is! Freebish wrote:
Yes, sort of. The Charlatans. "No relation to the British alternative rock band, the Charlatans, this San Francisco group has been widely credited as starting the Haight/Ashbury psychedelic scene. In retrospect, their contribution was more of a social one, planting seeds of a rock counterculture?" and more. From allmusic.com, a great site, with a link from RP (AMG Entry)

I love Charlatans, please play more other songs.
great to hear these guys on RP.
Nice one, RP. I uploaded this a couple of days ago, and it's already on the playlist! Glad you thought it worthy.
I agree. I\'m shocked this is the first Charlatans track to be added to the playlist!
More Charlatans!!! "The Blind Stagger" is my favorite off of this album.
