For the Brits listening to this, of a certain age, doesn't it sound like the Clangers are backing vocals?!
I am one of those certain age Brits - and YES - are you a snap dragon or a Soup Dragon ?
How can any of you yanks who voted for an idiot like trump have the gaul to criticise anyone. Put your own house in order first.
What do the French have to do with this?
You spelled Biden wrong.
trumpistas are pretty clever in their retorts, I must note!

Perhaps Manu Chao should have learned more Spanish before he started writing lyrics in it.
No one really loves France. Not even the French.
Most Americans think of the French as a breed of New Yorker - snooty, condescending, & incomprehensible. And largely irrelevant.
Buenos tardes.
Going on the record. I love France and your impression of the place is truly uneducated.
This is some xenophobic BS. The snooty, condescending one here isn't from Spain, France, or NY. Maybe from that mythical h8ful place called 'Murica, though.
Plus, my 15-year old heard this for the first time when he was in his mother's tummy and we were on holiday in Barcelona (where Manu Chau lives), he then became addicted to it and, being on the autistic spectrum, it became the routine song for the drive to school in Devon... each curve on that country road to Blackawton primary school was met with a "me gustas tú" and "5 de la mañana...remedio chino e infalible" was the cue to get out of the car!
I put the CD on the other day and he walked by me, he gave me a quick look and a fleeting smile. Me gustas tú.
Thanks for that - very interesting. I thought it was quite fun myself.
Aw. I love the slide whistle. I guess I'm juvenille, too. (And I'm a neuroscientist, by the way.)
Shucks. I was hopin' for a rocket scientist. I guess a brain surgeon will have to do.
It is a worldwide phenomenon, people in the USA love to hate New York
(and Calif.), in Canada its Toronto, in France it's Paris, in England
it's London etc. These cities all have a level of sophistication that
isn't appreciated by the rest of the country (until they live there).
Having said that, let's keep politics off RP. There is enough of it everywhere else.
Here it should be all about music.
Toronto? A level of sophistication the rest of the country can't appreciate?!!
And Arkansas is the cultural hub of America, right?!
it means "I like you"
And more literally, "you please me". (And not "you pleasure me", BTW.)
Huh aelfheld,
I just want to point out that you misspelled buenas tardes. And add a couple of more comments.
The French (quote unquote) as a breed of New Yorker, probably only applies to some folks from Paris. The rest of the country is not like that.
But then I don't have problems with folks from Paris either (though I would personally never go on a vacation to Paris). Guess it helps to be fluent in French.
But I understand. I know that some stoutly unilingual North American folks insist on language purity and wish languages to remain static.

I'll bet that many Americans would like to export the White Trash to somewhere else.
@westslope: I'm only ONE American and I would like to export that trash you speak of, starting at THE VERY TOP lol.
I think this is a fun little track, and I can nearly understand both the French and Spanish. It's a 7 for me. PEACE and LONG LIVE RP!!

Pretty funny coming from somebody whose last name is from Spanish (or Portuguese) origin.rusk (n.)"light, crisp bits of bread or biscuit," 1590s, from Spanish or Portuguese rosca "roll, twist of bread," literally "coil, anything round and spiral," of unknown origin, perhaps from a pre-Latin Iberian word.
Manu Chao is NOT an spanish crap, he was born in Paris, France, even he used to sing or use spanish words.
I thought ALL american citizen loves France...

Welcome to the RP forum Oscar.
Finally, French in America is sometimes associated with New Orleans sleaze, Haitian Voodoo etc and the language itself is disliked by English speakers unless you are an Francophile.
Now that's a bunch of BS.

Welcome to the RP forum Oscar.
I think you mean Manu Chao is not a Spanish chap - not "crap" which is something completely different although some commentators here think he is both!
Here is a summary and highly personal comment as to why Americans (and British) do not love France.... not least because there is still a lingering belief that France rolled over a little too easily to the Germans in the Second World War, The Allies had to save France but there was not much gratitude for the Allied sacrifices by the French authorities afterwards and they made out that in fact it was the the French Resistance that won their Country back.
Post WW2 General De Gaulle made himself unpopular with the British and Americans and then there was Vietnam - a mess that France started and the Americans tried to solve at great cost but in the end unsuccessfully
Finally, French in America is sometimes associated with New Orleans sleaze, Haitian Voodoo etc and the language itself is disliked by English speakers unless you are an Francophile.
However you are Spanish and your language is obviously increasingly spoken in the USA spreading from Latin America so you are safe from all my sweeping generalisations.
Agreed! I’d also rather listen to a language I don't understand that a bigot I do understand!

But without such inducements, it felt like it needed to be over after 30 seconds, though it felt like hours.
Ha! That reminds me of dropping acid back in the day and then hearing that Popcorn song by Hot Butter on the radio. It was just too, too weird. Nearly didn't make it back. This would be the same, I'm afraid.
