Paul is making me nervous
Paul is making me scared
Walk into this room and swaggers
Like he's God's own messenger
Change the name of my brother
Change the things that he said
Says that he speaks to him
But he never even knew the man
But I'd give my life for him

Like water through my hands
You'd give him any ending
But if he's all you say
Would he fly from heaven
To this world again
To this world again

Take whatever you're needing
Take whatever you can
We are broken from within
Run to another land

Water through my hands
Or is it just beginning
But if he's all you say
Would he fly from heaven
To this world again
To this world again

They took my brother
They ripped him from me
To twist his words as they did his body
Denied his family
Denied his beauty
To lay him down at the feet
Of those he couldn't save
Couldn't save, couldn't save

Will it be the end
Or is he still ascending
But if he's all you say
Would he fly from heaven
To this world again, to this world again

Toad the Wet Sprocket lifts me out of the daily doldrums. Great to see live as well!!!

Long Live   Radio Paradise

This is my favorite song - the first track on this great album!
Always one of my favorite Toad songs... I ribbit, I mean, diggit.
Happy Khmer Day.

Don't know what strange mood I must have been in when I rated this a 3.

Love the Toad!
Great song. The whole album is a must listen to.

I don't see how this song remotely sounds like Christian Rock.

This song is arguably about Paul and Jesus, it's true, but it is most certainly not a traditional Christian viewpoint.

TOAD put out some decent songs.
Still my favorite track from this album...but I still need to take the plunge and buy one.
SO BAD
For a moment I thought I had tuned into a Christian Rock station by accident. Not a good thing.
Now we are going somewhere, it's beautiful

Yeah. I know how you feel. With all the idiots in the far past, the near past, even yesterday using it for excuses war, their own religion or whatever. It can be a major turn off for almost everybody. Remember this... that's man's influence there. I've learned a long time ago to try and ignore that. Use your own mind to make decisions.
One of Toad's best!
Nice... themotion wrote:

Luv the Toad!
Is Paul Simon aware that somebody stole his voice and lyrics?... Or is it just me talking about myself in the fourth person again?

Probably TTWS's best album, for anyone who might be curious.
I'm inclined to agree, too. Although I really like all their first four albums. TTWS's? Is that anything like ROUS's? haha

Agreed - and for me the best song.

Prolific.
Hmm...I wonder if the narrator is supposed to be Thomas? Interesting progressive viewpoint. Beautiful song--one of Toad's best.
One of my favorite songs ever. I love the choice of words.

Thanks, to runchadrun for the lyrics and Yes, I kinda thought so myself.
just saw these guys with Big Head Todd & the monsters...wasn't impressed with Toad at all, Todd on the other hand rocked!
TTWS's sound strikes me as a cliche. The drumming in this song really hits me that way. It's not awful. Just sounds like an echo of 80s mainstream rock. A solid 3.
Why oh why do I still not have an Toad in my music collection? I must do something about that immediately!
My hometown boyz.
This is new to me, and I've yet to hear a Toad song I don't love. Thanks for playing them!
Been a while since I heard these guys, good call Bill.

Hmm, I was just thinking, now what could Bill play to keep this thing afloat? I feel guilty for not playing this entire record in weeks if not months... Great stuff... Yoroshiku onegaishimasu, Bill-san, itsumo! Domo!

You can't really go wrong there. I'm partial to Fear, next Dulcinea, but Coil and even the Rarities cd have good stuff on them.

Bill, please feel free to play Toad as often as possible. Such a great band. Excellent tune.
Seeing the lyrics certainly changes my appreciation of this song
always loved that album and particularly that song
oooooh, yuk. How 80's mor, gimme a lobotomy sounding. banal, banal, banal. Don't care if the lyrics are good, the, and I use the term loosely, music, ruins it.

This song makes an awesome opening to an excellent disc. Toad disbanded at the top of their game, with Dulcinea and Coil as their last two CDs. A definite 9 for this tune.
I've always liked Toad but never followed them that closely. Nice song. I'd like to hear more here.
Huh, I always wondered why I never heard this here, it's one of my favorite Toad songs, and there aren't a ton. Glad it's been added. "In My Ear" and "Know Me" would be cool, too.
