Looking for my place on assembly lines
Fake prizes rising out of the bomb holes
Skeleton boys hyped up on purple
Smoke rings blow from across the disco

Bank notes burn like broken equipment
Looking for shelter, readjust your position
Thought control, ghostwritten confessions
Two dimensions, dumb your head down

Duck, don't look now, company missiles
Power is raunchy, rent-a-cops are watching
Make your dreams out of paper mache
Cliched wasted hate taste-tested

Hell yes now I'm moving this way, I'm doing this thing
(Please enjoy)
Hell yes now I'm turning it on, I'm working my legs
Hell yes now I'm calling you out, I'm switching my plates
(Please enjoy)
Hell yes now I'm cleaning the floor, my beat is correct

Stretched to the limit, attention spans snap back
Retract, collapsin' the laugh tracks
Noise response, applause and handclaps
Floodgates open to the sound of the rainbow

Breakin' points on the verge of pointless
Fools anointed to the follower's fanfare
Look for the common, not superficial
Code red Cola War conformity crisis

Perfunctory idols rewriting their bibles
With magic markers running out of their ink
Lives in White Out, turn the lights out
Fax machine anthems, get your damned hands up

Hell yes now I'm moving this way, I'm doing this thing
(Please enjoy)

Hell yeah! Bring it on!

Yuck.

This sounds exactly like Beck
That's what I said when I saw Beck headlining at Coachella: https://www.coachella.com/

Nailed it! Production as instrument, big fun!
rap/crap this throw away s^it is all I hear when I leave the house it sucks, no one plays, it's all canned corporate crap.
I love Beck, but his music gets waaaaay too much airplay on this station. It's being played to death.
Man, I haven't played this record in a LONG time, great song!

5.9?! Hell, 10!
This beat is nice.

Leave it to Beck to make rap actually cool and palatable.
He did? Why doesn't Bill play that one?
"Peace and Joy"? "Hell Yes!"
Beck seems to be hit and miss with me. I do like this and Scarecrow (haven't heard the rest of the album) whereas I disliked most of Midnite Vultures. His earlier albums are the same - some I quite like, some I don't like at all.

Yup, this is gonna pretty much be it from now on.
Goofy but cool. Makes me want to get drunk and twirl a glow stick.

Wow what porn are you watching?
"...you gotta admit that this cat is talented" OK, but this one falls into the cat's litterbox tootsie roll category. I did give it an extra point for its ability to get stuck in my head.
But it's hate-taste tested! How can you go wrong! Me likes the Beck-a-licious hipster goofus funkeeness. I like your bass, your beat is nice! Hell yes! dogpound wrote:

My 15 month old daughter rocks out everytime I play this album in the car. What can I say, the girl knows what she likes.
sounds like porn music.

Horrible, just horrible. The LAST thing I want to hear upon waking on Sunday morning. If this is what RP is going to be playing from now on, I am gone!
HELL YES!
awesome song....love this album/artist
woo hoo!
I'm pretty sure this is what Spike Jones would have sounded like using today's technology.

Hell Yes. I went out and bought this album. Glad I did.

This album took a few listens to get used to, but I now love it.
Have to say I much prefer the Beck of "Sea Change" and "Mutations" to this style
Hell no!
Is that the Chicken Dance song I hear?
for those of you that didn't already know: "hi" means "yes" in japanese.
I'll say it again:

Impatiently awaiting 10/5/05
Talented, maybe, but this song annoys the heck out of me.
Still, my fiance doesn't like this Guy. Personally, I think he's a genius. Even if you don't dig his brand of music, you gotta admit that this cat is talented.
Strange how much I can enjoy "Guero" and then find this one so annoying
Somebody told me the girl talking in this Christina Ricci who is Beck's sister-in-law. Rather than inducing nausea like most rap does, this induces pleasure.

fun, i guess. but i miss the pre-video game music soundalike days.
Do I like this song? Hell yes. Beck, Mozart. What is, Musical Geniuses from the 1700s to the 2000s, Alex. "I want to be an artist that transcends genres even as he redefines them!" - Bender.

Aaah, Beck. The first artist on RP to have two number 1's in my ratings. 'Sucko Barfo' isn't hyperbolic enough for this >>insert appropriate blasphemy here<< awful tripe. How do producers let this leave the studio? Do they all have tinnitus and wear ear muffs? I'd rather eat adipocere than listen to this. RP, you can do better. Much better.
Having spent a good portion of my adult life in a recording studio, I can honestly say, you just don't find stuff this good very often. Tinitus? Maybe, but I know that Beck is unique, innovative, and refreshingly better than all the crap I hear on commercial radio, and I'd go so far as to say deserves higher accolades than the majority of great RP artists!

Gotta say this is wicked. Hell yes! I like your bass. Your beat is nice. I caught you a delicious bass. Just a guess, but the "hai" that the girl says is "yes" in Japanese, so maybe she's Japanese. Sounds like Bjork tho.
This didn't stink. Faint praise, but it's heaps from me for something of this ilk. Normally, this would bring a knee jerk mute reaction. I'm looking forward to the next hearing.

I'm totally hooked on Sea Change as well.

You're right about him getting the right to release obscure material on indie labels. But when he tried to release Mutations on Bong Load Records, the sh*t hit the fan and everybody sued everybody. Basically, DGC (Geffen) ended up releasing it. I don't think he'll be able to release anything on an indie label unless it approaches the ultra-wierd. But, yeah, a smart move when during the 1994 label bidding war.

It's Beck. Couldn't you tell by the harmonica?

That's because, thankfully, he was smart when he negotiated his record deal. He was fortunate enough to hit the scene when labels were signing anything calling itself, "alternative." From what I understand, his original contract allowed him to record on other labels. Then, when Mellowgold blew up the spot, he had a lot a clout - if his main label didn't let him do what he wanted to, he could give them his crap, and record his good stuff elsewhere. I think those of use that enjoy his tunes have benefitted greatly from this.
Beck is still Beck and that's a GOOD thing! S.
Hip Hop? Just Skip Hop. Please.
Interesting that most artist when they hit the big time become more main stream, but not Beck.

Hmm, tinnitus worked into a Beck groove. But it's just so subjective.... Good idea! Awesome track!

You know that "Star Trek" episode where they go to the mirror world and everyone is evil? That's how I feel when someone articulately slams my favorite artists. This guy is passionate, educated, witty, persuasive... and WRONG. Hey, so was Jim Jones; sometimes the cult drinks the cool aid. Doesnt' make them right, just dead. BTW - this song is very very very good. Beck for me, adipocere for you.

And just in case you really wanted to know...What 'adipocere' means Which I could have comfortably lived out my life without knowing, but that's what makes RP so much fun.

Bought the disk a couple of days ago and this is my favorite track. Don't know how I completely missed Beck before. Thanks RP for making me take notice.
Cliche' wasted, hate taste-tested, hell yes... None of us are this cool. I want to be Beck.
After I heard Loser for about the 837,000th time I really tuned out Beck for a long time (which of course was easy to do until online stations came along). Thankfully, I've since been reintroduced by RP. The man really is brilliant. And I gotta say, having heard the album version for the first time just now, I like the remix better!
This is the only Hip Hop allowed on this Station. Too bad. Bring out Snoop...
Love it... Only Beck could pull this off.
Is this hellagood?

I'd give it a "Hell No," but that's too obvious. Is he sampling the "Bit" from Tron?
Nice groove, I've been listening to Beck for a long time now, and I'm glad I like his newer stuff - otherwise I'd feel like I'm losing my funk!
first play on rp? hell yes. beck is the shiznit.
