Everlong
Tonight, I throw myself into
And out of the red, out of her head she sang
Come down and waste away with me
Down with me
Slow how you wanted it to be
I'm over my head, out of her head she sang
And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You got to promise not to stop when I say when
She sang
Breathe out so I can breathe you in
Hold you in
And now I know you've always been
Out of your head, out of my head I sang
And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You got to promise not to stop when I say when
She sang
And I wonder
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You got to promise not to stop when I say when
RIP Tayor. You are loved.
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again....
It felt like being punched in the gut when I heard about Taylor.
Completely wrecked over Tyler. If you haven't read Dave's book, The Storyteller, I highly recommend it if you're a fan. He goes in to detail about his incredibly close friendship with Tyler descriptively telling of their world-wide shenanigans over the past 2 decades of touring.
totally agreed, TLBritton. They loved each other like brothers and respected each other even more. such a tragedy to lose Taylor at such a young age. Godspeed.

As someone who works with AI on a daily basis, I have two comments:
the first, Dalsir, is that would you be able to provide a verifiable source for this statement? I'll need to know which corporation provided the general purpose AI capability, what data was provided and how it was processed.
The second thing is, watch out: AI, is one of the most misleading technologies ever invented. Even if there were good data supplied to reputable AI technology, the conclusion you cite is most likely meaningless chatter disseminated with the intention of misleading. But, I'll need to investigate first. Thanks.
Funny how you said that. But when they ran comments through AI, vaxxers seem to operate more with feelings than facts.

Good sound. Same like Sugar for me like in the album Copper blue
Gawd - all their songs sound so f’ing similar. Not that they are they only band about which that is said …. But on top of all of it just sounding like a Dave crescendo … BORING
Hey Montreal,
You better watch it. It's not politically correct to criticize this band.
You are 100% correct (see my previous posts).
This band is immensely boring. They follow same PAAD formula (every song must contain one or more of Pain, Angst, Anger, or Despair). You can predict when it comes in each and every song.
But there is such a HUGE lack of RnR talent, that these guys stuck around and now are anointed as a great band.
Funny how you said that. But when they ran comments through AI, vaxxers seem to operate more with feelings than facts.
Fear perhaps of a preventable death?

They recently canceled because the vaccines made them sick and unable to perform

I had a vaccine. It was not without side effects but nothing to keep me off my feet. Of course, I wasn't asked to put on a 1:45 minute set twice a week.
As everyone who puts on a show should! Anti-vaxxers stay home....

Ahhhh, relief.
One of them for sure. I can name X others -- Moon, Starr, Bonham, Baker and more -- who are air drums ambassadors.
And yet, it's also not definitive at all. How odd.
Nope
Some of us were just still mad that Kurt was gone. Took me a long time to get on board, despite how damn catchy the songs were.
Clearly, Foo Fighters has put out tons of top notch music. It's a lot more pop than Nirvana wanted to be, and maybe that's part of the angst too?

My husband plays a mean air guitar to this. Rock on!
Put on my headphones ......Dead air........
Then this starts to crank.

You're certainly running out of something.

Sorry unclehud,
It's just that this is the world's greatest band ever! Nobody has ever played RnR like them!
They are so good! So unique!
Uh oh! I'm running of of !!!!
As a father of 2 teenage sons (15 and 13) sitting up the the balcony with the 13 year old one waiting for the concert to start "dad please can I go into the mosh pit with my brother please?".
"But your mum said that you could only go to the concert if you stayed with me in the balcony."
"Please dad please?".
"Oh alright... but if it starts to get rough I am going down to get you out of there - OK".
The house lights dim then a red floodlight shines on a giant FF logo backdrop behind which Everlong starts quietly in Dave Grohl style, the tension builds, his singing voice gets harsher and the tempo increases, I break out in a cold sweat, then suddenly full white arc lights light the whole place like daylight and the young ones in the mosh pit get supercharged into a seething frenzied mass.
It never ended up as a full scale riot and everything settled down eventually but just for that one moment I thought "what have I done?".
You had to be there and be part of it I suppose.
Happy memories.
As the father of two sons, now in their late 30's, I get it. there's a fine line between incredible adventure and irresponsibility. Glad yours survived, and I'd bet my house they remember that "adventure" for the rest of their lives ... as clearly as you will!
What soaring vocals!
What soaring guitar playing!
What soaring drumming!
What soaring bass playing!
Wow!

One of the best concerts ever!
They did two 3 hour shows (2 days in a row)
(and picked out a guy from the audience to play drums with them on the second night !

I saw them in an Open Air Concert in Berlin several years ago and i can imagine your sons got a connecting memory they will remember their whole live.
Great band. Uh and i nearly forgot that in the last part of the concert Lemmy Kilmister appeared and they did like 2 songs together . Great

Hey reijkman,
You are not allowed to criticize this band. They are anoited as the best RnR band in the world now.
Ok...I stopped laughing now.
PSD.
Totally agree.
Totally agree.
Yes I think for that very reason I will bump my rating 9 > 10!
Me, I want to play drums like that.

Just awful.
That's why there's the PSD button. For me, this is a great song.

I love nearly everything Grohl does... except FF. It's like he tries to write forgettable songs. Meh.
Strong 3/10
Sorry but you have got this completely the wrong way around - most everything he does with FF is great and his songs are memorable.
Bumping your 3 up to 9.
You've made it clear many times over that you have some very limited taste in music. To me, the puzzling part is how proud of that you seem to be.
It's also puzzling how often he uses the word "hook" in relation to music and apparently doesn't have any idea what the term means. Whether or not one likes this song, it's got more hooks than a tackle box. It doesn't seem he's aware of the definition of "truncated" either, even though he frequently uses that word as well.
Had to bump this

Indeed. I remember a nice drive through the french alps, going very steep uphill and racing against a fast Mercedes. One of my best driving experiences and this song was on the MP3 player. I lost the race, but it was fun. My wife was nauseous for hours afterwards, but she didn't complain.
He IS hating and, judging from your list of faves, you are stuck with a view of Rock music that is decades old. I love those old classics too, but bands like the Foos are making great Rock music right now (and for the last 20 years). They bring joy, power, talent, and unbridled enthusiam to the genre. What more could a rocker ask for?
They tore old RFK stadium apart on the 4th of July and did to that house the same level of justice that the very first Rock band that played there did nearly 50 years ago.
Not necessarily a Foo Fighters fan, but RFK was a great show. I'm a bit more of a fan after that. Great song for driving with the radio at 11.
Chatted briefly with Dave, nice guy and certainly one of the hardest working guys in the music business.
quite a lot of fun CRUNCHY
I agree, this is pretty lame.
I guess when a huge void exists (good RnR), any thing that enters the space can assume the title.
RnR in 2015...is it dead?

Rock and Roll is dead! Long live Rock and Roll!
To each his own but it sounds fantastic to me and brings back some bittersweet memories. Love this song.
There was a big mister motorgang with tattoos and stuff working at the place at that moment. He stoot out against all the other employees looking like grandmothers and other boring characters. I suspected him to have a social service job after sitting out some jail time. I was a little afraid for him.
He followed me to the exit of the library and I was getting nervous. What does he want from me? I tried to ignore him and just casually look forwards, until his hand touched my shoulder. I turned around and he said: "You have a good taste sir" and we both smiled.
