Feel good...
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good

Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good

City's breaking down on a camel's back
They just have to go 'cause they don't know whack
So all you fill the streets, it's appealing to see
You won't get out the county, 'cause you're damned as free
You got a new horizon, it's ephemeral style
A melancholy town where we never smile
And all I wanna hear is the message beep
My dreams, they gotta kiss because I don't get sleep, no

Windmill, windmill for the land
Turn forever, hand in hand
Take it all in on your stride
It is ticking, falling down
Love forever, love is free
Let's turn forever, you and me
Windmill, windmill for the land
Is everybody in?

Laughing gas these hazmats, fast cats,
Lining them up like ass cracks,
Ladies, homies, at the track
It's my chocolate attack
Shit, I'm stepping in the heart of this here
Care bear bumping in the heart of this here
Watch me as I gravitate,
Hahahahahaa
Yo, we goin' ghost town,
This Motown,
With yo sound
You're in the blink
You gonna bite the dust
Can't fight with us
With yo sound
You kill the Inc.
So don't stop, get it, get it
Until you jet ahead
Yo, watch the way I navigate,
Hahahahahaa

Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good, AHHHHahahahah
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good, AHHHHahahahah
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good, AHHHHahahahah
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good, AHHHHahahahah

Windmill, windmill for the land
Turn forever, hand in hand
Take it all in on your stride
It is ticking, falling down
Love forever, love is free
Let's turn forever, you and me
Windmill, windmill for the land
Is everybody in?

Don't stop, get it, get it
We are your captains in it
Steady, watch me navigate,
Hahahahahaa
Don't stop, get it, get it
We are your captains in it
Steady, watch me navigate
Hahahahahaa

Feel good...
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good, AHHHHahahahah
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good, AHHHHahahahah
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good, AHHHHahahahah
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good...
AHHHHahahahah...!

We all have to put up with something we don't like around here.  Anyway - this isn't what I'd call hip hop,  I'm not sure I've ever heard any straight out hip hop on here which I would welcome and in fact I'm going to make some suggestions.

modern Archies
started the main mix this morning with renforshort's version, which i like. but, nothing compares to this.
same song twice in a day. ok!

And it looks like they're all having SO much fun! Especially the string section.
Might have to up this to a 10.

Is this the only hip-hop song he ever plays?
Plug  two!
This is good. The Archies come to mind.

Or HazMats.
This song makes me happy.
Love this song. Reminds me of a great period in my mid 20s were I felt really free after getting out of a stifling relationship. Realizing I was still so young, feeling super energized. It's a bittersweet kind of freedom. Raring to go, a little scarred and wiser but still able to bounce back.

For those who say the lyrics are meaningless, I knew exactly what the lyrics meant then. This song made me want to jump up and sieze the day:

"Windmill, windmill for the land
Turn forever hand in hand
Take it all in on your stride
It is ticking, falling down
Love forever, love is freely
Turned forever, you and me
Windmill, windmill for the land
Is everybody in?"

Representing a (relatively) younger audience, I’m glad to hear that RP is playing a wide variety of stuff, like this. Happy they’re playing Gorillaz, honestly one of the most creative bands out there. Plastic Beach is one of my favourite albums of all time.

On my gosh!

This must be the 1st time this has ever happened with a rap song:

Don't get me wrong
I wear a sarong
pass the bong
Short, no long
Ding...a dong?
King, no its Kong

I don't get tired of this.
This song kicks ass cracks. Love it

Can't count the number of people on to whom I've foisted RP. No complaints yet, though, so onward we go.

True story -- a friend who I had not seen in years was in town. I had turned him on to RP some time in the mid 2010s. He asked me what I listened to, and I said mostly streaming stuff. He perked up with that, "oh there's this GREAT station called Radio Paradise." I just pretended to be impressed.

Popularity doesn't mean a song sucks. This one gets a 9 from me. I think it's genius.
How can you not adore Hewlitt's artwork in the video for this song?

Nice segue, from Boogie On to Feel Good, Inc. Thanks!
This song is eccletic in and of itself, and it's a great example of a big pop hit that belongs on RP.

Great tune!

Plastic beach is also magnificent album, and environmental, though.

The Kinks were first ;-)    ->   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDhfzuWs8Xw
Where the Gorillaz stuff really shines is when it is paired with the images and videos.

Tom Tom Club — Suboceana
Marvin Gaye — Got To Give It Up
Gorillaz — Feel Good Inc.

Bill is in a party mood. I like that!

Rap? Hahahaha...the semi-spoken part in the middle of this song makes this a rap song about as much as Dylan's Subterranean Homesick Blues is a rap song. A pet peeve of mine is when people dismiss "rap" music categorically. You couldn't pay me to listen to commercial, mainstream rap that celebrates money, guns and (politely) women...but there is so much creativity and musical genius in the wider hip-hop genre (underground, indie, etc.) Lots of poets and idealists there, along with infectious melody, awesome beats, and lyrical innovation.

As last posts go, this one seems hard to beat.  Is it too late to nominate this for 2013 post of the year?  :-)
RP Diversity at it's finest.  I love this song.  And have come to love Gorillaz.  I turn it up every time.  And calling it "rap"?? I don't think so.
That laugh is a little to close to chucky.

Amen! And the rappers on this track, De La Soul, are some of the best.

Their 3rd album, Buhloone Mindstate, is easily among the best albums of all time, IMO.

Genius segue from "Won't get fooled again" !!!
Follow it up with some De La Soul!

(That's who provides the rap portion of this tune.)
One of the best things about having kids is you can turn them on to your musical interests and they can reciprocate. Thank you #2 son for turning me onto Gorillaz and in particular this song. I don't think this 56 year old would have found it without your guidance. Dancing in the kitchen this Sunday morning. How could you not?{#Dancingbanana_2}
A classic of it's time. Was 2005 really a decade ago….?

Yeah. Pandora is horrible, but I still go there.  Sometimes I need a change of pace and you can make your own station, worthless though it may be.

The overall song melody is quite nice, not fantastic, but definitely listenable, but the hip hop bit really ruins it.

Every now and then I feel just like this. But then RP plays something I love and would never have known about otherwise, and I am grateful to have the chance to listen or not listen knowing that something great is just around the corner. We have music we love because artists pushed the normal boundaries, and because others were there to listen. I think there is always more to come if we keep our hearts, minds, and ears open.

I never clocked the 'Staring at the Sun' -vs- 'Feel good Inc' similarity.

Facing up to the fact that The Madonna -vs- Lady Gaga moment just aint gonna happen on RP.
