Please let us know when you create something of artistic value and get it published, so we can judge it...

Until then, learn to use PSD and move along.

I get the sentiment, but "That song from that album by that band"  quickly becomes untenable.
A lot of Joy Division in the guitar intro. And there's nothing wrong with that!
The more I hear them, the more I love them.  They've been growing on me for years.
reminds me of zwan - desire
They are music magicians.
More of Sigur Ros please
A 20 for me
Here I sit smiling like I am out of my mind, on my deck in the Rocky Mountains listening to Sigur Rod and drinking Gran Marnier. Like the film illustrated, I like Gump do not have to be smart to be happy. Indications are it may be a hindrance. RP makes me happy, thanks to Bill and Rebecca. Shalom.
I guess this depends on who you are, where you are, what you're doing and your mood at the time, but to me just now, in this place, it is getting right on my tits.🐨
I like it! I don't care what anybody says.  Thanx RP!

Nice song!! You gotta like "hopelandic".

If I ever get a job torturing infidels I will be using this.
jfc, this band is horrible.

I wish someone had warned me of this before I made their discography my work playlist.

I'll just call it 'Great!'  8
It’s funny if you have SoundHound listen to this song the displayed lyrics will be: You Sigh Low Tonight, You’re So Alone, You’re So.

Untitled 4 a.k.a. Njósnavélin

Thanks for clearing that up...I knew I had heard this somewhere. And now here. A place to regain sanity.

Should be "Track 4, Untitled".
Sigur Ros on RP - fantastic!
"Untitled Track 4" is a contradiction of itself.
Didn't mind it until the singing started and then it becomes intolerable and annoyingly repetitive.
Time to find out what's on SOMA FM this morning . . .

I like lots of SG songs, including this one, but my favorite is "Viorar vel til loftarasa" on Agaetis Byrjun.

I love the way the menacing feedback and rumble melt into one of the most beautiful pieces of piano that I think I have ever heard.

Then the bass kicks in around 2:00 minutes followed by beautiful violins and eventually guitar . . . all building to a fantastic closing crescendo.

It's a post modern symphony.

Visionary . . . and vision inducing.
Favorite sigur ros song
painful.
lol... from crap to godlike - i DO understand why this is the case with Sigur Ros.

for me, it´s godlike, of course!
one of the very few songs where the votes´ range should go to 12!
Just the right thing to cool down in this hot European weather...love it!

That is a good comparison — like Pink Floyd, Sigur Ros' album is an epic work better listened to in it's entirety and they are perhaps ahead of their time (will be better appreciated in the future).  Definitely not mainstream, which is one reason I love them!

It's like Radiohead minus the talent.

One song a month is my limit. This song should be renamed "Unplayed Track 4."
 aelfheld wrote:

Not quite: they sing in "Hopelandic" which is not a language, but kind of a stadium of the song, when there are not yet lyrics to the music and the melody. On their older and very new albums, Jonsi is also singing in Icelandic and English.

You may not have noticed that this Album was released in 1997, when the Kings were still in their "Pampers"

I'm with you. I love the music, and the vocals are fine, but the lyrics are incomprehensible. It's distracting me from enjoying the music.

I'm with you. This track is growing on me. 6 to 7 this listen, and I could see it getting an 8 with a couple more listens. 1997 release date? I have missed so much! Thank you Bill and Rebecca for the treasure that is Radio Paradise!

And then a great segue to Amanda Palmer....
Very nice song.
I can't tell if he's singing about Cy Young or Cylons.  Doesn't really matter.  It would be better if he didn't sing at all.

10 or 20 minutes too long
Just the instruments is like nails on a chalkboard. Add in the whiny vocals and it is like nails on a chalkboard X 10.

Not really loving this one.
not good for migraine
makes my ears bleed.
If everybody can get past the lyrics and just listen to the music.

The song is a solid 8 for me, sure the "lyrics" get annoying at times but it's still a great song.

If it sounds like they are singing nonsense, it's cause they are. It's a made up unintelligible language called Vonlenska.

BTW - the song title is actually Njósnavélin

One of the whiniest songs ever! Worse than the worst of the Radiohead whines.

Well according to Wikipedia (and I know they are not necessarily the authority) the term "Scandinavian" is fairly loose, depending on who is using it:

Scandinavia<1> is a region in northern Europe that includes Denmark and two of the Scandinavian Peninsula's nations, Norway and Sweden. In common English usage, Finland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Greenland are sometimes also considered part of Scandinavia.<2> The term Nordic countries refers to Denmark, Norway and Sweden as well as Finland and Iceland, and associated territories.

One of the worst bands ever.

Good job there is an off button. repetitive crap
I don't know what they're saying, but it doesn't matter - it sets a mood that I love. I'm updating my journal, and this music is mellow and soothing.  I might actually even be able to sleep clear through the night. And that's not a bad thing.

I quite like the laid-back style of Scandinavian bands (yeah, I know, Iceland's way up North, but I always associate it with Scandinavia on account of the Vikings) and if you're in the mood this would be really, like, Zen, man, but when you're slugging away as a deskbound wage-slave it's not conducive to productivity, or even staying awake. Mind you, that's not entirely a bad thing...{#Sleep}

An untitled track that sounds great! Has the familiar sound of Radiohead but not quite.

This has to be some of the most original pop-music in the rock genre that I discovered in the past decade.

Funny how such a small country of just 1/4 million people punch so much higher than their weight in several fields.  They kept the British navy at bay during the Cod wars.  Fishery management looks pretty damn good to me.  And this music.

Noted that one person's aural anaesthesia is another's salvation, as with the droning at Our Lady of Constant Conception.
