I dig this album, though I still don't know how someone gave him my final project from my Intro to CAD for Residential Architecture class to use for cover art. 

Guess I should have spent more time studying for that class and less time getting high and listening to Nick Drake records.

Interesting. I don't know who was/is the better guitarist and/or singer/songwriter, but I have a feeling that Drake would have admired Gonzalez's voice, style, and chops.

Amen to that, very nice touch on the strings.

Seems like we're setting the bar pretty high with inevitable comparison to the incandescent Mr. Drake?  Ouch!  Funny how you can come up with an "almost" Whitney Houston here and there (saw one on "The Voice" recently), but the gulf separating mere mortals from a Drake or an Elliot Smith seems almost to grow with time.  Watched "Good Will Hunting" couple weeks ago, wow what a rare soul Elliot was.

At first I thought oh crap it's Fleet Foxes.  Then I came to this page to say "Hey, for Fleet Foxes this isn't so bad at all".  Now I want to know more about Jose Gonzalez.  Nice guitar decent song!

It is reminiscent a particular Nick Drake song (which I cannot presently think of), and likely inspired by it, but contrary to the apparent belief here, Mr. Drake was not the first person to sing mournful, personal songs and accompany himself on an alternately-tuned acoustic guitar.  There are several hundred years worth of such folk music which which was written and performed long before his birth..
