Nice. Thanks for sharing this.
In the end, I don't know if it's good music or bad music or indifferent music. I have no idea. I don't really care too much, it's done with and over with. People would say, why do you release it anyway, if you don't really rate it? The answer is, whatever music it is, bad, good, indifferent, stupid, boring, whatever, – it's truthful. At the time, it's the truth, and it's honest. There's no attempt to portray an image or a career or anything. It's what it is. And truth can be painful. It's about losses close to me, and about my own depression, but it's cathartic. But you have to be truthful. If you're not true in what you do, if you're creative, then you should forget it. All I've ever tried to do is be truthful.—Vini Reilly

It's like a little masterpiece.
Never get tired of this. Sooo beautiful.
Bumming out
I had lost track of Vini Reilly - did not realize he was still out there. Thanks for bringing it all back! I do like this, but not as strong as his earlier material from the mid eighties

28 albums in 30 years - I guess you don't have to like all of his work in order to appreciate his accomplishment.
Please pass the razor blade.
Dig this sound.
seeing a body of water like that will forever remind me of the movie The Host
You guys just pulled off an absolutely beautiful and incredible and flawless transition to this song from Nellie McKay (w/ K.D. Lang) -You Had it Right. That was just fantastic.
really nice atmospheric song.

Yeah, I heard that too.
references to Neil Young "Broken Arrow" ? did you see them?
Yeah, I heard that too.
I simply must wonder what those who disparage this are hearing. This is a really nice piece of music, isn't it? Should be sufficient by itself.
Voice is reminiscent of early Brian Eno. Anyone hear that?

Normally I love the Durutti Column...but this song is boring.
Yeah, this is sub-par for DC. Someone give this guy a Starbucks Plenta espresso.

But I really, really don't like this ending.
Pretty, moody...I'd be curious to hear more of them.

If these guys set out to create a mind numbing dirge as an accompaniment to a wrist slashing party, they've done a brilliant job.....

Excellent music.

Fantastic guit accompanyment, haunting little down-beat number.
I'm a sucker for his tuning and the tone he gets from his guitar. An instrumental CD would be fine by me....
Loving this. Not a band I had ever heard anything by, until hearing the also fantastic Nina on RP recently.
Interesting shot on the album cover - Kowloon waterfront, somewhere between the railway station and the New World centre, looking across to Causeway Bay and North Point, Hong Kong Island. Used to run along it every morning.... long time ago, different life.
Shame the music doesn't actually measure up to the view.

heck yes, Vini Reilly. This is a wonderful Durutti song. For some reason it has me in the mood to hear some Felt. something off of Ignite the Seven Cannons, or Poem of the River. for some reason hearing Vini play guitar also makes me want to hear Lawrence too. Maybe it's just me...

Excellent music.

Sung to the tune, "Lien On Me"?

Likeable tune, anyway. Love the guitar.
This whole album has been kind of a revelation for me. Truly amazing music. "Nina" is of course the standout track, but this one is very good as well.

I love their other stuff I've heard, this is nice and soothing for me...got to get this CD!!
18 years of American dream
Parading violence on my TV screen
See bullets and blood but I don't hear the scream
When it's over it feels like a dream
Did you see?
Did you see him?
Did you see?
Did you see him?
Yeah I've got your letter but I think it's come too late
It's too full of anger and you're burned out with hate
Where have you been hiding all this pain in your heart
I should have seen it was coming
I should have known from the start
I did not see me
I did not see me
I did not see me
I did not see me
I'm gonna get myself a gun
I'll use it on myself
I don't care where I go as long as it's somewhere else
Away from depression, anxiety and pain
Away from the greys of Manchester rain
Did you see me?
Did you see me?
Did you see me?
Did you see me?
