A thousand people yell
They're shouting my name
But I wanna die in this moment
I wanna die

And a thousand people smile
Are smiling at me
But I wanna die in this moment
I wanna die

No way to understand
Why I've become the way I am

When the sky is filled with stars
I find the place inside my heart

Some people can take a blow
They won't ever drop
But I wanna die in this moment
I wanna die

She will tell me she loves me
She won't ever stop
But I wanna die in this moment
I wanna die

A coldness in my soul
And I reach out for her to hold

And then I watch her close her eyes
It's only me that needs to cry

And if I stay with you
Do you believe that I'll come true?

No way to understand
Why I've become the way I am

When the sky is filled with stars
I find the place inside my heart

And then I watch her close her eyes
It's only me that needs to cry

A thousand people yell
They're shouting my name
But I wanna die in this moment
I wanna die

very cool - never heard before, will have to check it out.

Reminds me of snow patrol, not instrumentation, but in dynamic. very nice.

I never catch lyrics first time around, so if this is a very depressing song, well... i dont catch lyrics the first time around very well :|

I like it...Never heard about them before. Will check em out , though.

GREAT CD !  {#Hearteyes}

far too mellow, IMHO{#Sleep}

I highly recommend the CD.  Light pop tunes with perhaps a broader appeal than Porcupine Tree.

Cruithne3753, fred and other British friends,

If I can borrow some jargon from media sociology, you must have gate keepers in the British rock music scene that act as a filter or launching platform for new acts like Porcupine Tree would have been in early 1990s.

Who would those be?  Is the 'model' intact?  Or is the era of digitalized music breaking down traditional patterns of popular music diffusion in Britain?

Earlier I heard this song two  or three time, I used to hum few bits of the song, thanks to RP I heard this song again, and this time I got the full lyrics for the song. Very nice song

Really? I can't see them on Radio 1 now that John Peel's sadly passed on. PT are way, way too sophisto for the clanging dumbed-down McMusic that gets airtime on R1. I gave up listening to that channel ages ago once Peelie died.

PT were in session a couple of times on Mark & Lard's evening show back in the mid 90s, about the time they became a full band.

More recently, SW was interviewed and a couple of tracks played shortly after the release of Fear of a Blank Planet on Bruce Dickinson's Rock Show on BBC 6 Music.

The album cover art certainly reflects the thoughts of many in Israel, of a landscape that is being shaped by bombs and destabilization.

That's pretty funny vit.

I notice that the DJ cuts off the end of the song.

I thought I'd been transported to the future and Porcupine Tree's 65th anniversery album.
Bill, lovely playlist but...

Blackfield - 1,000 People
Pink Floyd - Mother
Gary Jules - Mad World

This unit requires The Butterfly Ball And The Grasshopper's Feast by Roger Glover to inject some {#Daisy} into its system!

Little dark, I agree. But pair that with a couple of strong cups of coffee and its just about perfect.

All this interest in Steven Wilson?

I understand that he is interested in getting married and having children.  Though given his rather strong work ethic, any future spouse should plan on spending a lot of time alone.  {#Cool}

Why for why has this guy (and PT) never made it big in the UK - I hear they had a spot on BBC radio. They need to get on 'Later with Jools Holland' best music show on British TV.

Absolutely beautiful track.

makes you wonder if the big wigs behind the scenes understand how a place like RP can influence enough people to make purchases just by playing good music, non-commercially, and without their heavy hand...

Just make all your purchases from a click-through on RP ... and they will notice.  The side benefit of RP getting a small piece of the purchase is icing.   It also helps the industry recognize stations like RP as a NOT the enemy, but an invaluable channel for sell-through.

Yup, back to noisy chores.

Not my favorite Blackfied, but I'm not complaining.
morose, monotonous, tedious. i detect a Pink Floyd influence!

You're right. Steve leads. Aviv comes in on the chorus (if I am once again not mistaken). Must have been confused.

It's definitely more mellow than PT- a more pop oriented kind of sound.
Is all of this CD fairly mellow? I love PT, but they can get pretty "hard" and raucous....
I like this... it's kinda creepy.

Caught this a few times now, liking very much, great hook.
I saw BF play live last year in San Francisco. I was blown away by the sheer energy of this band. Alvaro
Gee, I didn't know that geeky British rockers had so much huh... err appeal. Much of the vocals on this cut are Aviv. {EDIT: Huh no....} News flash: We lost the Skyline CD arrived in the mail! So did In the Court of the Crimson King and Madrugada's Live at Tralfamadore. Joy! Joy! Joy!
...This entire CD is absolutely splendid.FOR SURE....Alexandra wrote:

Steven Wilson is utterly brilliant....musical genius!!!!
Here I am thinking "This is PT", what a nice song. I guess I was not that wrong :-)
...best blackfield i've heard, not bad at all...
Ya I have both CDs and love em both My favorite Blackfield song is Blackfield from their debut CD. It's uploaded here but has never been played Maybe if everyone requested it Bill might fit it into the rotation... (hint)
I wonder if Wilson understood that he would have the same fans digging both Blackfield II and Fear of a Blank Planet. Given the differences in the two CDs, that's quite a feat.
Omg this is awful.
Never heard of them. Nice surprise! An 8 (for now).
I got this album based on the RP airplay and think it's great. I also got 'Fear of a Blank Planet' and can't decide which one I like more. You got another PT convert, RP, way to go.
One of top 10 CD's I've bought this year. Thanks RP.
LOL! Long live Blackfield! This is a great song. This Killer is wonderful too.
No way to understand why I've become the way I amDeadwing wrote:
I agree- excellent stuff from Porcupine Tree's Steven Wilson and Israeli pop singer Aviv Geffen. Clearly it's PT but the best PT I've ever heard. 5.

Pretty disturbing theme building here: Gary Jules-Mad World Pink Floyd-Mother Blackfield-1,000 People Now if this is followed with Vienna Teng doing passages, we're in trouble.... ...though all mentioned are 9's and 10's...
This one keeps growing on me.
I could just die in this moment...Please play This Killer..It is so very strong through my headphones
To all those who complain about RP playing to much Porcupine Tree - it's been almost 8 hours since a PT song, this'll do nicely for now. Hoping for 20 minutes of Anesthetize before the end of the day to make up for it!
This is an addictive CD. I play it quite often.Superb
Very nice following the Floyd.
At first I though this was The Engineers--very much like Porcupine Tree.
If I was to judge the music by the album cover, I'd call it deconstructionist. Or simple in its composition. And it is very lush and characterizes Steve Wilson's softer, more vibrant side to Porcupine Tree's harsher, more in your face rock. An excellent album. It's nice when one of your favorite groups has a side project that also sounds great. We get twice as much material to absorb in any time frame. Nice.
Love the sci-fi feel to this. . .
Wake me up when this set is over.
Ugh. Damn Itunes. Stop rebuffering!
most excellent IMO. Keeps drawing me back in.
My next CD!! Porcupine Tree like...
I saw these guys because of RP exposing me to PT. It was in a tiny room at Berkley School of Music. I had not heard any Blackfield, and I have to say they were very good. They played this tune, and it wasn't as acoustic, way more electric guitar. It rocked.
I really love this this tune, great harmonies.
So yeah, the March 16th show was AWESOME. Check this act out live when possible; the material sounds much stronger. And of course PT will be in town soon...
Yeah yeah yeah! This is pretty cool!
Haunting! Porcupine-esque
March 16th!!! Bowery Ballroom, NYC, tix still available! Be there!
Great! The new Blackfield CD is really good. This is supposedly Steve Wilson's (the singer here, and frontman of Porcupine Tree) favorite song of the album.
